Episode 81: Shop 'til You Drop!

Happy Tuesday!  Funny story about this card.  I was thinking the theme for my Creative Critterz Imaginations post was suppose to be "Labor Day" and I just couldn't come up w/ a project to make with that theme.  So finally I thought that there are always sales on Labor Day so I'll do a shopping project.  So I created my card and then realized the theme is 'Anything Goes'.  LOL.  So here is my anything goes shopping card.  :)  I used the Yummy Imagine cartridge and the Better Together Imagine cartridge for my project.  Enjoy!

Any Occasion Butterfly Card

This is a very simple card that can be used for any occasion.  I used two cartridges for it; Elegant Edges and Serenade.  I'm loving Elegant Edges now that I've figured out how to use it.  :)  If you missed my video explaining the cartridge, you can see it HERE, basically one of the option buttons says Oblong.  That is the size that will fit best for an A2 size card.  The main button is best used for 12x12 LO's or square cards.  On to the card...

Card Recipe:
Serenade Cricut Cartridge - Butterfly 3" all layers
Elegant Edges Cricut Cartridge - Scalloped Rectangle 5" (Button #4, Oblong Option)

A Creepy Welcome Home Card

I have a friend who is moving back to an area she has been wanting to move back to so I wanted to create a Welcome Home card for her.  She also loves Halloween so I decided to make it a creepy welcome home card.  :)  I used the Happy Hauntings Cricut cartridge.  The hand is actually an embellishment on a frame cut.  I just enlarged the hand to 17.5".  This hand is on button #20, layer 1 and in the shift position.  There are no layers to the hand so what I did was cut out the image in green and in purple and then cut off the bottom part of the purple cut to make the shirt cuff.

Card Recipe:
Happy Hauntings Cricut Cartridge
PTI - Simply Chartreuse, White, Black and Royal Velvet cardstock
Recollections Halloween paper from Michaels
The Twinery - Lilac Twine
Purple and White pens for faux stitching

Episode 78: ARGH! A Bookmark!

This week over at the Creative Critterz Imagination blog we are challenged to make bookmarks with the Imagine.  I decided to make bookmarks for my nephew.  These are very simple bookmarks but I needed it to be if my nephew will be using them.  He is 9 and I needed it to be very flat to fit in his small books.  He is just starting to get into reading so I wanted to create something fun to encourage him.  I used the Buccaneer Imagine cartridge for the cut images and the background paper.

I thought the hooks make an interesting replacement to the tassel that bookmarks usually have.  :)  I will be laminating the bookmarks so they will last longer.

Another Silhouette Wedding Card

Here is another version of the silhouette wedding cards that I like to make.  Super simple but elegant and the receivers just love them.  :)  This can be used for wedding, anniversary or engagement.

One of the reasons I like doing the silhouette is because I don't like putting together all of the layers, especially in a time crunch.  :)

Sweethearts Cricut Cartridge - 3.65"
D'vine Swirls Cuttlebug Embossing folder

Episode 76: All About Me Layout

Today's post is for the Creative Critterz Imaginations blog.  The theme this week is to make a layout about yourself.  I had a real hard time with this project because 1) I don't scrapbook and 2) I didn't know how to scrap about myself.  So I did a little searching online and found a LO that I liked to use for mine.

The page is 12x12 and the brown squares are 3.5"x3.5", the cream squares, which I embossed w/ the Cuttlebug D'Vine Swirls embossing folder, are cut at 3.25"x3.25".

I was going to make my page have bright colors but since this page is about me I went w/ warmer tones.  I'm not a pastel, elementary, neon kind of girl.  I prefer browns, dark blues/greens/reds.

All of the designer paper I used on the cuts are from the Vintage Damask Imagine cartridge.  The 12x12 sheet is from the Heirloom Imagine cartridge.  Even though I don't scrapbook or do anything about myself I had a lot of fun making this.  Watch the video to see what each block means, if you can't tell.  :)

Up close pics:

Sorry the pictures aren't the best, I haven't figured out the best way to take a picture of a 12x12 sheet of paper.  :)

Yummy Birthday Card

This is the card that I made for my mom's birthday.  My mom loves fudgesicles.  Of course, I couldn't make a fudgesicle on a card, I'd be afraid of how it would look so I opted to make it more rainbow colored.  LOL  :)

This cut is from the Simply Charmed Cricut Cartridge and I cut it out at 4.5".  I hid the face on the ice cream part and it is cut out twice to make it thicker.  I used my Berries & Cream Imagine cartridge for the ice cream paper.  I also added glossy accents to the popsicle to make it look wet.

Card Recipe:
Simply Charmed Cricut Cartridge - 4.5"
Berries & Cream Imagine Cartridge
PTI - Simply Chartreuse, Harvest Gold, White, and Kraft cardstock

Episode 74: Simply Crafts w/ Glora & Pam - Rockin' Birthday Girl!

It's that time again for Simply Crafts w/ Glora and Pam.  Man this last month went by so fast!  I can't even believe it's August already.  Wow.  Anywho...  :)  It was my turn to choose the cut this month.  I was trying to find a cut to use for my niece who is turning 14 next week and came across this one.  I thought it would work if I changed it up a bit.  I didn't want to use the girl w/ the legs up in the air in a mini skirt so I enlarged the image to 8.5" and only used her shoulders and face.  I really like the way it turned out.  I think she will like it as well.

I used the My Pink Stampers Pink-a-licious stamp set for the sentiment.  I also used a Peachy Keen Stamps chicken face stamp for her eye.  Seriously!  :)  You can see more about that in the video:

Now be sure to head on over to Glora's blog to see her creation.  She's just amazing!  :)

Card Recipe:
Rock Princess Cricut Cartridge - 8.5"

Episode 73: Dog-gone Good!

Hi Crafters!  I'm so excited to be on the Creative Critterz Imaginations design team.  I know I will have a lot of fun and it will get me to use my Imagine more often.  I hope you have fun as well.  :)

For my first project for the theme 'Critter Cuteness Cards', I used the Best Friends Imagine cartridge.  And of course I used a dog image.  LOVE my puppies.  In fact, one of them makes an appearance in my video. lol   I used the My Pink Stampers Biggie Punnies stamp set.  I thought this sentiment went perfect with my little dressed up doggie.

Here is a little video of me putting this card together.  I want to apologize for the quality at the beginning.  It's my first time to video my machine.  I'll do better next time when I figure out the best settings for it.  :)

Here is an image of the inside of my card.  I like to add a frame and add a small detail to finish off my cards:

Card Recipe:
Best Friends Imagine cartridge - 2.5"
American Crafts White cardstock
Papertrey Ink - Kraft, White and Golden Harvest cardstock;  Lemon tart buttons
Seeing Spots Cuttlebug Embossing folder
Kraft Twine
