Another Pink & Green B-day Card

Happy Monday Crafters!  I needed to make a birthday card for a neighbor but didn't have a lot of time to put something together.  So I went through my Imagine scraps and found a cupcake image already printed and cut and green polka dot background paper.  Threw this card together pretty quickly.  Love that!  :)

This week I will be posting a project on Wednesday for Glora and my challenge 'Simply Crafts' and on Friday a project for Georganne and my challenge 'Cookie and Cards'.  It'll be a fun week!  :)

Card Size:
A2 Size Card: 5" x 8.5" folded in half so 5" x 4.25"
Cupcake size: Real dial size: 3.25"  (I don't have the original size I cut)

Hi Crafters and Friends!  Sorry I haven't posted as much as I use to.  I've been busy reorganizing my craft room because I am moving to a different area of the house.  I've also been working on being a health coach.  I'm down a total of 34 inches and 3 sizes down since January!  Woo Hoo!!!  I've also posted a new pic in the 'A New Me' tab at the top.  Check it out!  And if you want more details on how I'm doing this, click on the link in that tab as well.

Thanks for being patient w/ me once again!  :)

Episode 111: Thinking of You Spring card

Hello Crafters!  This week over at the Creative Critters Imagination blog we are continuing the theme of Spring.  I made a simple Thinking of You card using a flower from the Country Life cartridge and flood filled it w/ designer paper and colors from the Berries & Cream Imagine cartridge.  Not sure why I don't use this cartridge more often, it has some really pretty papers in it.

To accommodate the flower image that I chose I needed to make a tall card.  This card is 8" x 9", scored in half to equal 4" x 9" size card.  This size card also fits into a business size envelope.

Graduation Card

Hi Crafters and Friends!  I still didn't have time to edit my video but I wanted to post something.  This is the Graduation Announcement I'm making for my niece.  It's pretty simple but detailed.  I made the blue paper w/ the Class of 2012 font and puppy paw print w/ my Silhouette.  It also cut out the rectangle.  Look at those sharp corners!  :)  What is making this more detailed and why it is taking longer than I thought is because I'm putting Diamond Stickles w/in the letters, numbers and paw print.  So it's taking a while to finish them.  But it's a pretty simple design all and all:

Here is the inside.  I shaded out her last name but I wanted to show the font I used.  I did this on my computer.

Card Recipe:
Silhouette Cameo - Font: Felt Marker
Golden Paper
Royal Blue Paper
White Paper
White satin ribbon
Pearl w/ adhesive backing
Diamond Stickles

Thanks for Stopping by!

A New Me!

Hi Everyone!  I don't have a project for you today, I'm running behind on editing, so I'll have that up for you on Friday.  Today I have something very personal to share.  I'm not going to lie and say I'm not a little bit nervous.  :)  I have a new tab up on my blog called 'A New Me' (top left).  I would love for you to check it out.  I'm on a new weight loss program and since the first week in January I've almost lost 50 lbs!  Woo Hoo!  I am so excited about what is happening to me, that they asked if I would be a Health Coach for their program so I can help others too.

On the 'A New Me' tab it shows a before and current photo of me.  I still need to lose some weight so that is why I say current.  :)  Also on that tab is a link to my coaching website.  If you feel so inclined, please  pass on that link to anyone you think may struggle with weight or health issues.  Thanks for helping me get the word out!

I'll update the photo on that tab every once in a while and will keep you up to date on my weight loss progress.

Thanks so much and see you tomorrow!

Card of Scraps - Argh!

This week over at Creative Critters Imaginations we are continuing the recycled theme for Earth Day.  I have very limited time right now as I'm putting together graduation invitations/announcements for my niece.  My room is covered in royal blue and gold.  lol  So this challenge actually worked in my favor this week.  I have a drawer where I put all of my scraps and designs I didn't use from my Imagine.  This is what my drawer looks like:

I found these 3 cuts at the bottom of the drawer and a card came instantly to mind:

To make the boy stand out on the map background I glued him down on white paper and made my own white shadow for him.  I then wrapped white twine around the whole thing in an X design.  I seriously made this card in less than 7 minutes and at least half of that time was making the shadow for the boy.  Love it!  :)

Here is what the inside of the card looks like:

Card Size - 5"x5"
Boy - 4", Map - 4.5", Lobster - 2" - These are real sizes as I don't remember what they were when I cut them out.

Episode 109: Cookie & Card Challenge - Spring

Hi Crafters and Bakers!  I'm so excited for today's post.  My cousin Georganne and I are doing a monthly challenge with each other, it will be on the first Friday of the month.  Georganne is a FABULOUS and MOST TALENTED cookie and cake designer.  Her blog is called Lila Loa and you definitely need to check her designs out.  She also is the most talented writer.  Seriously, her posts are so funny!  :)  Our challenge with each other is that I will choose a cookie or cake that she has done and make it into a card and she will choose one of my cards and make it into a cookie.  How fun is that???  :)  So onto our first Cookie and Card Challenge...

When I first saw the cookie that I chose for this months challenge I thought to myself 'I HAVE to make this into a card, I love it!'  So I did.  :)  Here is the cookie that I chose:

To see the post for this cookie, click HERE

Seriously, isn't it the cutest???   Now I don't know if she is going to go as literal as I did but I copied this cookie down to almost every little dot.  That's what she gets for giving me permission to copy her cookie.  lol  :)

I got a new toy for as my graduation present from my parents.  They got me the Silhouette Cameo!  I'm so excited to use it.  I used the Cameo for this card.  I also used my ultra thick paper from PaperTrey Ink and it cut beautifully, even the letters!  Don't worry, I'll still use my Cricut a lot but it's fun to have a new toy to make things with.  I also colored those pearls.  More details on that in the video.

Be sure to head on over to her blog, Lila Loa, to see what she made of mine.  I can't wait to see either!  :)

Cookin' Up Some Birthday Wishes

My blog has now been transferred to my new custom domain.  So my blog address is now www.SimplyPamsCreations.com.  I will also have a new look to my blog in a few weeks.  I'm so excited!  :)

This card I made is for my brother who LOVES to cook and experiment in the kitchen.  I was trying to figure out how to make the cuts more manly and the designer paper I found is perfect!  I found this little gem of a paper pack at Joanns.  It's called Cloud9 Design Specialty 12x12 paper pack.  It has the most beautiful and perfect blues, turquoise, browns and greys.  I absolutely love it.  I'm thinking about getting another one to have on hand.  It's perfect for boy projects, especially big boy (uh, I mean men) projects.  :)

I don't know if you can really see it in the pictures but I used the Distress Stripes Cuttlebug embossing folder on the white cardstock.  This folder is perfect for men as well.

On the inside of my card I put the 2nd spoon on the measuring cup cut.

There is a new challenge going on over at the Paper Playtime.  I am actually sponsoring this challenge.  To be eligible for the gift (below) head on over to the Paper Playtime blog and submit your project.
