Special Happy Birthday Card

Hi Crafters and Bakers! Today I made a card off of some cookies my cousin made.

So what makes this a Special birthday card? The cookies I chose are from the COVER of her COOKIE BOOK!!! How AWESOME is that???? Here is the cover:

You can also buy her book, which is a Top 5 cookie book w/ Amazon by the way, on her blog: http://www.lilaloa.com

Here is the card that I made off of those cookies:

It's a simple card but I thought turned out cute.  I still feel like there is still too much white space but I didn't know what else to add.  Maybe I should have chosen a designer paper for the background instead of all white.  Next time...  :)

Thanks for stopping by!

Sweet Treats Cricut Cartridge - Present
Stickles - XMas Red

Happy Fall, Pumpkin! - Cookie Card Challenge

Happy Fall Crafters & Bakers! Today is the cookie card challenge. It's the day that helps me craft each month. I've been in a bit of a crafting lull. I have done some cards but haven't posted them on my blog yet. Hopefully in the next couple of weeks. Anyway...

If you aren't familiar with this challenge I choose one of my cousins cookies, LilaLoa, to make a card off of and she chooses one of my paper craft projects to make a cookie. The following are the cookies I'm making my card off of. I just love the wavy lines, colors, and spaces in between everything. It's a classy looking pumpkin.  You can find more about her post HERE.

Here is the card that I made based on those cute pumpkins.  It's a simple card but it's perfect for a friend, neighbor, etc type of card.  I used a banner cut to slice the pumpkin in two so it would have the curve like her pumpkin cookies.

Be sure to stop by my cousins blog, LilaLoa, to see what she made!

Hi Crafters and Bakers!  Today is the Cookie Card Challenge!  My favorite crafting day of the month. Daffodil Thank You Card - Cookie Challenge!

Hello Crafters & Bakers! Today LilaLoa and I are doing our Cookie Card Challenge. I chose the following Daffodil cookies to make a paper project off of.  They are so pretty and I just love the dimension to them.  Isn't she just amazing???  You can see her post about these cookies HERE.

I found this really pretty Daffodil in my Cricut Library.  It was one flat flower w/ a shadow behind it so I cut out the main image in two different colors and paper pieced them together for my flower image.  I love how this turned out.

My Cricut also wrote out the Thank You for my message.  I love this pen option with the new Cricut Explore machine.  I hardly use my message stamps anymore because I have this feature.

I also bought a new Anna Griffith Cuttlebug Embossing Folder.  I usually tend for more simple designs but I wanted to try this one out and I just loved it.

Thanks for stopping by!  Be sure to drop by LilaLoa's blog to see what cookies she made off of one of my card designs!  :)

Eagle Scout Card

I can't remember if I shared this one yet or not. I couldn't find it so I'm guessing not. If I did, here it is again. :) I found the image by searching Eagle Scout Cartoon. I used the print and cut feature on my silhouette. For the background paper I searched for an image of boy scout patches.   It was originally a darker image but I faded the paper.  It turned out a lot better than I thought.  It's simple but works perfectly.

Don't you just love this Eagle?  I love his smile.  :)

Simple Grad Card

Hi Crafters! Today I wanted to share a simple graduation card I made for my sister to give her niece-in-law. What I tend to do is to use the schools colors and the mascot if I can. It makes it more personable.  So the colors were a deep purple, black & white.  I added the silver for a little more pizazz.  The mascot is a mountain lion.  I found the image I used just by Googling 'Mountain Lion Silhouette'.  I meant to emboss the purple paper for extra detail but forgot.  Now I feel like something is missing from it.  :)

Thanks for stopping by!

A 'Sorry I Nipped You' Card

So my adorable little guy Tavis nipped the mailwoman. No joke. I'm sure I can enter some type of cliche here. Luckily she was wearing jeans. No skin was broken but he did leave a mark. A little side note on Tavis, I found out that he came from a puppy mill and has some health problems, as well as some mental issues. He is really neurotic and nervous. We don't let him near strangers because it makes him worse. Unfortunately we were caught off guard yesterday. After he nipped at the mailwoman he ran downstairs and hid. I felt so bad for her and for Tavis.  I made a card last night to plead apologies to her.  She has been our mailwoman since we lived there, 10+ years. So hopefully this will put us back in her good graces.   She was really nice about it yesterday and said she was alright.  Fingers crossed.

Here is the card I made her:

Here is a pic of Tavis.  He's not very big and weighs about 15 lbs.

Cookie Card Challenge - Sleeping Baby in the Clouds

Hello Bakers & Crafters! Today is the Cookie Card Challenge!   Well almost.  Instead I'm making it the Cake Card Challenge.   :)  I was in the mood to make a baby card so while I was looking on Georganne's website, LilaLoa, I saw this cutie pie cake and it inspired me to make a cutie pie card.  :)  You can see her post on the cake HERE.

Before I get to my card let me share some exciting news.  Well, for me anyways.  I got the Cricut Explore for Christmas!  I'm so excited.  I haven't been able to access my Cricut cartridges for about a year now I think.  Now I have access to thousands of images that I purchased over years.  It's been great.  I've used it a couple of times now and it's really easy to use and just love the image search.

Anywho, here is my card...

The stars are a light blue and I've put stickles on it.  So it's coming off as diamondy instead of blueish.  :)  Yeah, these are words.  I swear it.  lol

My cloud is made from vellum.  I love the way it turned out!

Thanks for stopping by!  Be sure to head on over to Georganne's blog, LilaLoa, to see what she made from one of my paper projects.  :)
