A 'Sorry I Nipped You' Card

So my adorable little guy Tavis nipped the mailwoman. No joke. I'm sure I can enter some type of cliche here. Luckily she was wearing jeans. No skin was broken but he did leave a mark. A little side note on Tavis, I found out that he came from a puppy mill and has some health problems, as well as some mental issues. He is really neurotic and nervous. We don't let him near strangers because it makes him worse. Unfortunately we were caught off guard yesterday. After he nipped at the mailwoman he ran downstairs and hid. I felt so bad for her and for Tavis.  I made a card last night to plead apologies to her.  She has been our mailwoman since we lived there, 10+ years. So hopefully this will put us back in her good graces.   She was really nice about it yesterday and said she was alright.  Fingers crossed.

Here is the card I made her:

Here is a pic of Tavis.  He's not very big and weighs about 15 lbs.

Cookie Card Challenge - Sleeping Baby in the Clouds

Hello Bakers & Crafters! Today is the Cookie Card Challenge!   Well almost.  Instead I'm making it the Cake Card Challenge.   :)  I was in the mood to make a baby card so while I was looking on Georganne's website, LilaLoa, I saw this cutie pie cake and it inspired me to make a cutie pie card.  :)  You can see her post on the cake HERE.

Before I get to my card let me share some exciting news.  Well, for me anyways.  I got the Cricut Explore for Christmas!  I'm so excited.  I haven't been able to access my Cricut cartridges for about a year now I think.  Now I have access to thousands of images that I purchased over years.  It's been great.  I've used it a couple of times now and it's really easy to use and just love the image search.

Anywho, here is my card...

The stars are a light blue and I've put stickles on it.  So it's coming off as diamondy instead of blueish.  :)  Yeah, these are words.  I swear it.  lol

My cloud is made from vellum.  I love the way it turned out!

Thanks for stopping by!  Be sure to head on over to Georganne's blog, LilaLoa, to see what she made from one of my paper projects.  :)

Love Birds!

Today's card I made for my cousin. She is getting married and this card was for her wedding shower. It's from the Sweethearts Cricut Cartridge. The cut only has a limb on it and I felt like it was just floating in the air on the card so I cut out a tree trunk by hand to attach it to something.  :)

I added a lot of texture to the card to make it stand out more.  I wish I would have embossed the background but that's OK.  It might have actually been too much so I guess it's good I left it alone.  lol  :)

Bow Tie Cookie Card

Hi Crafters and Bakers! One of my favorite days of the month is here! It's time for the Cookie/Card Challenge I do w/ my cousin, Georganne. She has a FABULOUS cookie/cake blog called LilaLoa. Her designs are fabulous and her writing is amazing. I wish I had her skill w/ words. :) With this challenge I get to take one of her cookie designs and make a craft project with it and she will take one of my paper projects and turn it into a cookie!

Here are her cookies that inspired my paper creation.  You can see her post HERE.

I just LOVE her bright colors and those are just the cutest bow ties.  You have to see her blog on how she made those little men.  She made them w/ a bell cookie cutter!  Anywho, here is my take on it:

I thought I could use this for a graduation card or something like that.  To make the elongated neck basically cut out a long thin rectangle and put it behind a shirt from Paper Doll Dress Up and a large head.  The head and shirt are cut at 9.9".

Thanks for stopping by and don't forget to go to Georgeanne's blog to see what she made off of one of my paper projects.  :)

Cute As a Button!

Hi Crafters! Today Glora and I are doing our Cricut challenge w/ each other.  Glora chose the cut this month and she chose this adorable bunny from the Baby Steps Cricut Cartridge.  It is on the tooth button.  The bunny is actually found in an Easter basket.  I wasn't really feeling an Easter card, I really don't like making cards I probably won't use and I rarely give out cards for things like Easter, St. Patty's, 4th of July, etc.  Just one of my many crafting quirks.  :)  So I was trying to figure out how to turn an Easter cut into something I might use and I thought Bunny = Baby.  So yes, I made a baby girl card.  It's very pink.  Beware.  ;)

Make sure that you go to Glora's blog to see what she has made.  I'm hoping it is an Easter card.  You should really see how cute this cut really is.  :)  Thanks for stopping by!  I'll have another card for you on Friday.  I know, 2 in one week is insane!  lol

Yappy Birthday!

Hi Crafters! Today, Glora and I are doing our cut challenge. It was my time to choose the cut and I chose the graduating dog on the Create a Critter 2 Cricut cartridge. I thought this little guy was adorable.  :)  I didn't want my dog graduating, I wanted him more universal so I kept the graduating cap off.

The color I chose makes is user friendly for either a male or female card.  :)

I'm not a super fan of the placement of my sentiment but I had to put it there because I messed up when I was putting the sentiment straight on my card so I had to cover it up.  lol  :)  And what about that border punch?  Isn't it darling?  It's one of my favorites.

Be sure to go to Glora's blog at Glora's Crafts to see what she made w/ this cut.  Thanks for stopping by!

Nice to SNOW Ya!

Hi Bakers and Crafters! Today is the first Friday of the month which means it's time for the Cookie Card Challenge w/ Georganne and I! If you are new to this challenge what we do is I make a card designed after one of her cookies and she makes a cookie designed after one of my cards. I just love Friday mornings when I see what she has made. Totally makes my month! :) The card I made is after a cookie that was featured by Martha Stewart's blog!!! You heard that right. What a HUGE compliment! She deserves it. Her cookies and the way she makes them are amazing! Here is the cookie that she made:

HERE is the link to her blog post for this cookie and HERE is the link to her featured on Martha Stewart.  I just think that is SO great!  :)

Simply Crafts Challenge - Reindeer Christmas

Hi Crafters! Today is the first Wednesday of the month so it is time for the Simply Crafts with Glora & Pam! I love this challenge because it gets me crafting. :) It seems lately I haven't had much time for it but this "forces" me in a great way to get the creative juices going. The cut for this challenge is the reindeer cut on the Doodlecharms cartridge. I LOVE this cartridge. It has some adorable, fun, and cute cuts! :) Here is my project:

The embossing folder I used is from Sizzix and it is an ornament design that was perfect for the background of this card.  The shiney ribbon I got from Michaels.  I love the silver web design ribbon, so fun!

Of course the PKS stamp is perfect for the face.  I used a stamp that just had eyes then hand drew the mouth.  After my pictures were taken I added red blingy stickles to the nose and glossy accents to the eyes.  It looks better but it's almost midnight and I didn't want to retake the pics so just take my word for it.  :)

To participate in the challenge head on over to our challenge blog - Simply Crafts.  Also head on over to Glora's blog to check out her project and other projects she has made, she seriously is amazing!
