Happy Birthday Lil' Bear!

Hi Crafters! Today Glora and I are doing our cut challenge. This month Glora chose a SVG file for us to use w/ our Cameo's. The file that we are using is from Miss Kate's Cuttables. You can buy the file HERE for only $.50!  Such a cute cut!

I decided to print & cut my file.  I saw someone print on glossy photo paper and I loved that it really picks up the colors from the file.  So much better than printing on cardstock.  I'm in love w/ this technique now.  It also makes the creation of my card so much quicker.  :)  Here is my card:

I like putting a little something on the inside of my card.  It adds a little design to the inside and it also takes up writing space.  lol  I'm TERRIBLE at writing messages in cards.  I just tell my family that my love is the creation, not my message.  :)

Be sure to head on over to Glora's blog, Glora's Crafts, to see what she made using the same cut.

Welcome Home!

Hi Crafters! Welcome Home! Today Glora & I are doing our Cricut challenge cut today. I chose this house cut. I'm now a realtor and I wanted to make a new home card as a congrats to my future buyers. I'll put in a gift card as well. I chose the house cut on the Sugar & Spice cart. I wish I would have chosen another house cut. This one was a little different w/ the layers.  I cut off the bottom of the house, I didn't care on how it looked.  Good to know for my future cards. :) Here is my project:

Thanks for stopping by.  If you are in the Salt Lake Valley area and are looking for a realtor let me know.  :)  pamnisson@gmail.com  Make sure you stop over to Glora's blog, Glora's Crafts.  I'm sure she did something WONDERFUL w/ this cut.

Zombie Birthday

My nephew loves zombies. I guess they are the thing right now.  :)  I found this cut at the Silhouette store and thought it was perfect. I didn't want to make it bloody gross so I kept it simple. He loved it. Super simple boy card...

To make the stripes in the background I embossed the white cardstock w/ the Cuttlebug Distressed Stripes embossing folder then lightly ran the blank ink pad over the embossed area.

The perfect boys card.  :)  Thanks for stopping by!

Hawaiian Thank You!

Hi Crafters & Bakers!  Today I'm going to give you a sneak peek of some cookies that Georganne hasn't featured yet.  Well, at least I don't think she has.  :)  These cookies she made for my aunt, her mother-in-law.  My dad took the pic at the party, so I had an inside scoop!  I loved the island image cookie and decided to make my card off of that one.  (HERE is her post that she did on these cookies)

Here is my card based off those cookies...

I made this card in a postcards style.  I didn't have a folded edge.  Here's the back.

Make sure you head on over to Georganne's blog to see what she made of mine into a cookie.

I also wanted to share a video I made of my story over the last year.  If you don't mind, take the time to watch and share with others.  Thank you!

Love Birds!

Today's card I made for my cousin. She is getting married and this card was for her wedding shower. It's from the Sweethearts Cricut Cartridge. The cut only has a limb on it and I felt like it was just floating in the air on the card so I cut out a tree trunk by hand to attach it to something.  :)

I added a lot of texture to the card to make it stand out more.  I wish I would have embossed the background but that's OK.  It might have actually been too much so I guess it's good I left it alone.  lol  :)

Elegant Thank You

Hi Crafters! Today Glora and I are doing our Cricut Cut Challenge. This month I chose the birdcage cut from the Straight from the Nest Cricut Cartridge.  It's been a while since I used this cartridge so I wanted to pull it out and use it.  Saw this birdcage and thought that it might be a challenge to alter it as I kinda like to do.

So I decided to make a square card and enlarge the cut.  For some reason I love doing this and I have a tendency to do it as well.  Here is my card...

I cut the size at 9" and my card is 5"x5".  The patter paper is from the DCWV Linen Closet paper pack.  I loved the colors in this paper pack, soft and elegant.

I had cut out two birds just in case and so I had an extra one and decided to decorate the backside of the envelope w/ it.  It's kind of hard to see on the picture.

Make sure you head on over to Glora's blog to see what she made with this cut.  She's my favorite crafter.  I want to be like her when I grow up.  I LOVE the way she completes a card.   :)

Cute As a Button!

Hi Crafters! Today Glora and I are doing our Cricut challenge w/ each other.  Glora chose the cut this month and she chose this adorable bunny from the Baby Steps Cricut Cartridge.  It is on the tooth button.  The bunny is actually found in an Easter basket.  I wasn't really feeling an Easter card, I really don't like making cards I probably won't use and I rarely give out cards for things like Easter, St. Patty's, 4th of July, etc.  Just one of my many crafting quirks.  :)  So I was trying to figure out how to turn an Easter cut into something I might use and I thought Bunny = Baby.  So yes, I made a baby girl card.  It's very pink.  Beware.  ;)

Make sure that you go to Glora's blog to see what she has made.  I'm hoping it is an Easter card.  You should really see how cute this cut really is.  :)  Thanks for stopping by!  I'll have another card for you on Friday.  I know, 2 in one week is insane!  lol

Episode 126: Sympathy Card

Hi Crafters! One of the harder cards for me to make are sympathy cards. I never know what to put on the card. This one was actually easier for me to make because I knew an interest of the person that passed away.   She loved horses.  Her house was decorated with horse images, bridles, saddles, etc.  So what I did was look for free images of horses on Google and found this gorgeous image.  I thought it was perfect for a sympathy card.

Thanks for stopping by and watching!

Nice to SNOW Ya!

Hi Bakers and Crafters! Today is the first Friday of the month which means it's time for the Cookie Card Challenge w/ Georganne and I! If you are new to this challenge what we do is I make a card designed after one of her cookies and she makes a cookie designed after one of my cards. I just love Friday mornings when I see what she has made. Totally makes my month! :) The card I made is after a cookie that was featured by Martha Stewart's blog!!! You heard that right. What a HUGE compliment! She deserves it. Her cookies and the way she makes them are amazing! Here is the cookie that she made:

HERE is the link to her blog post for this cookie and HERE is the link to her featured on Martha Stewart.  I just think that is SO great!  :)

Here is my take on her cookie:

And the side view so you can see the dimension:

You can make this card very simply, cut out circles and layer them on a circle card base.  I got the card base from the Wild Card Cricut cartridge.  Be sure to head on over to Georganne's blog, LilaLoa, to see what she made of mine.  I can't wait to see myself!  :)

Star Wars Wedding Shower Card

Hi Crafters!  I have an unusual wedding shower card for you today.  My cousin is getting married and our family shower for him and his fiancee is this weekend.  Once I heard he was getting married this card idea came to my mind.  He is a big Star Wars fan and also loves pretty much anything sci-fi and gaming.  So the idea of Han Solo and Princess Leia as the ultimate couple for their card.  :)  I was so grateful I found a cut!  This image actually did have Luke Skywalker also on the cut but I just cut him off.

Oh btw, what gave me this idea besides knowing that he liked Star Wars is he posted on Facebook once saying he was so grateful for his fiancee who would come over and do Star Wars trivia when he was having a bad day.  How cute is that?  :)

To see the original cut go HERE.  It is on the letter V.  I flipped the image so the hand that is showing would be her left hand.  That way I could add a little bling for a wedding ring.

I've never cut out dingbats before.  What a challenge for something that has tiny cuts and so many!  Thank goodness I have a Silhouette for this.  Hardest challenge?  The faces.  The cuts were SO tiny!  So this is what I did.  I put the following face cuts back into their original place.  Then for cuts that were big enough I put glue on the back and then placed them back into the face like a puzzle.  That way I knew where everything went.  For the pieces that were just too tiny I grabbed a black marker and just colored in the lines on the "puzzle" piece.  Hopefully that made sense.  :)

Oh, from what I can tell from their invitation I believe that their colors are teal and black.  We'll see in a few weeks at their wedding.  :)

Hi Crafters!  Today is the first Wednesday of the month so that means it's Simply Crafts with Glora and Pam time!  This month we chose to do the present cut from the New Arrival Cricut cartridge.  If you don't have that cartridge any present cut will work.

I took a look at Glora's card and it looks like we had the same idea but for different events.  I think this is the first time that has happened.  lol  :)  LOVE her card!  Gorgeous colors!

In the video I show how to paper piece my cut together.  Here is what it looks like when I took it off the mat:

Here is the card all put together:

Happy Birthday & Retirement

Hi crafters!  Todays card I made for a friend of my dads.  They celebrated his 60th birthday and his retirement from the National Guard.  My dad came up with this design.  He wanted one foot in the grave and his other foot on a banana peel.  Thought that was pretty funny.  :)

To make the darker lines on the clothes and hair I used the Versamark pen.  Love that little tool.  :)  I hand cut the grass and dirt.
