MPS - Father's Day Challenge

The BBQ Grill (p. 41) and steak (p. 73) are from the 'From My Kitchen' cartridge. I cut the grill image in a few different ways:
- Main image - cut in black and used as the base
- Shift Main image - cut in black and silver. Cut the legs off of both and trimmed off the grill section on the black cut. That way the silver was showing through but w/ a black base.
- Layers image - Cut in yellow then chalked over it in orange so it looked like the coals were glowing.
- Popped up all but the base image on the card.

Let me know if you have any questions on this.

The base paper is PTI, the orange frame paper is SU! and the designer paper is from K&i Memories Classic Prints paper pack. Twine is from SU! The shine on the grill I drew on w/ my Gelly Roll Sakura Clear Star glitter pen. Love this pen! The glitter just rolls on.

The stamp is from the My Pink Stamper Everyday Occasions stamp set.

MPS - Family 'Male Birthday Card'

I decided to make a male card for my project. I know a lot of us, especially me, have a hard time w/ male cards. We can't help but add ribbon, flowers and bling! :D This is a birthday card for my Uncle. He loves to read so I wanted to incorporate that by making some antique looking books. The book cuts are cut at 3" and it is from the Paper Dolls for Everyday cartridge. It is located on p. 46, accessory 3 (shift) w/ the graduate cut. I cut the book out 8 different times. 1 cut for each book color and 4 times in the tan color for the pages at the top of the book. If you have the Gypsy or DS you can move the 4 books to the edge of your digital mat so it only cuts out the pages portion of the design so you waste less paper. I also chalked the pages in dark brown so the dark brown chalk could get in the creases of the cut to make it look more antique. I also inked the edges of the creme paper to help with the antique look.

The base Dark Chocolate paper and ribbon is from PTI. The creme paper is basic Roberts cardstock. The paper for the burgundy, blue and brown books are from the Paper Studio paper kit called Traditions. The green paper used on the green book is from the We R Memory Keepers Coppered Out paper kit.

And last but Definitely not least, the stamp is from the My Pink Stampers Family & Friends stamp set. Love them!

Where Are We?

Ok, I thought that this was really funny. I made this for my brother Sterling who is on his mission in Florida. He is SO directionally challenged it's not funny. And for you Utahns, a place where it's almost impossible to get lost, he gets lost here as well. Crazy. Anyways, he just got transferred with a new companion into a new area. They both don't know where anything is at. So while I was trying to think of a card for Ster this came to my mind. On the inside of the card I wrote 'Good Luck in Your New Area!'.

The stamp set is called Merry Monsters from Close to My Heart. The arrow is from a Hero Arts stamp set that I just got called Just a note. It has things on there like an envelope, ruler, stapler, pencil, scissors, etc. The orange base papers is from PTI. The map I printed off my computer and it is a street map of an area around Ft Lauderdale where he is at. I was going to buy a map looking designer paper then the thought came to me to just print it off myself and I think it works and it was free. :) I colored in the arrows and the little guys with my SU! markers. The ribbon is some basic ribbon that I had on hand. Don't know where it came from.

PDE Challenge #2

This is for Janis' 2nd challenge on her blog Pause Dream Enjoy. The challenge is to make a bookmark. My friends birthday was last week and we are celebrating it this Saturday and she loves to read. She has a wiener dog and a cat. Have no clue on what kind but it's orange. :) So I thought I would give these to her as part of her gift. The puppy is from the Paper Pups cartridge and the cat is from the Create a Critter cartridge. The designer paper that is on the puppy bookmark is from the Basic Grey Max & Whiskers collection the paper for the cat bookmark is from the K&I Memories Sweet Life Photo Mat Pad. I added Stickles to the cat's bow and the puppies collar.

Update...

Hi Everyone. I just wanted to provide an update on why I haven't gotten anything out this week. I'm enrolled in 2 colleges this summer. One to finish my associates degree and one to start my bachelors degree. So w/ those courses and w/ my full time job, right now, I just don't have time to craft during the week. My only day off from all of that is on Sundays which I have designated to be my craft day since it relaxes me. So I'll try and do around 2-3 projects on Sunday so I can post them throughout the week.

Thanks for your understanding and THANKS for your support and comments! I REALLY appreciate it!!!

PDE Challenge #1

Janis from Pause Dream Enjoy has a challenge going on over at her site. Very creative challenge. It ends tonight so be sure to join in on it soon! If you can't do the challenge be sure to head over and check out her site. She is SO creative. I just love her projects!!!

The challenge is to make an Artistic Trading Card. The size is 3 1/2 x 2 1/2. The bee cut is from the Pooh & Friends cartridge. I cut the wings out in vellum then added glitter to them. That made the vellum curl so I had to glue them down. Unfortunately you can see the glue through the vellum and it looks kinda messy. :( Oh well, I tried something new. I added a diamond gem for the eye. I used the Swiss Dots cuttlebug folder for added texture to the card. The ribbon I got from Michael's dollar bins. The designer paper in the back is from the Flower Shower spring stack by DCWV. The black & yellow paper is from SU!

My nephew's teacher is moving so will no longer be at his school. He is devastated. So I told him I would make a card for his teacher that he can give her. The cuts are from the Create a Critter cartridge. The paper is from SU!. The ribbon from PTI. I used the swiss dots cuttlebug folder for the background. I used a SU! circle punch to punch out the window in the apple and then glued his image in the back.

Uh Oh Nose!

My boss/friend is having nasal surgery this week and I wanted to send him a funny card. Since he'll have his nose bandaged and most likely will have black eyes I made this card. The face was cut at Everyday Paper Dolls cartridge. I cut the head out at 6 inches on read dial size. I colored the black eyes w/ Pebbles Inc chalk. I hand cut the bandage out.

Huntin' for a Birthday...

This card was for my nephews Primary teacher. He is an avid hunter. Thought it turned out well. The cut is from the Paper Pups cartridge. I cute the image out a few times. One in the dark brown for the outline and one in blackout. I also cut the outline one in black and grey and then just cut those pieces for the gun and glued it on my original dog image. Hopefully that made some sense. :) The sentiment I printed w/ my printer. The paper is from PTI. Not sure where I got the ribbon but I love it. Perfect for outdoorsy cards.

Thanks for looking! If you have any questions let me know.

MPS Challenge #12: Critter Card

Have I said how much I LOVE the Create A Critter cartridge? No? Well, I LOVE it!!! :D I made this card to go w/ the stamped message. It's from the My Pink Stampers new stamp set called Punny-licious! You HAVE to buy this one. It's fabulous and goes w/ this cartridge so well.

Thanks for looking! It's been a long day but so worth it. So much fun!

MPS Challenge #11: Rainbow Card

When I saw this challenge I had an idea immediately of what to do. It looks complicated but it's really simple. I used the cut from my Gypsy Wanderings "cart". I just did a search for borders and I found this one. Then cut it out at 1" for each color of the rainbow then glued it down. The paper is from SU!. Then I added Stickles for some bling. :)

Thanks for looking! Be sure to head on over to My Pink Stamper to see other challenges and prizes to be won!

MPS Challenge #10: May Day Card

I bought this background stamp a while ago and have been wanting to use it for something. Thanks Jo for this challenge so I can use it! :) It's from Rubber Stampede called Wild Rose background. I got it from Joann's. I used PTI paper and ribbon and used SU! markers for this card.

Thanks for looking! Make sure you go to the My Pink Stampers website to see all of the challenges and prizes.

MPS Challenge #9: Shape Card

When I was trying to come up with a shaped card I thought that this would be a perfect type of card for my niece Izzy. She went into the hospital this week w/ spinal meningitis. She is already on the mend, the doctors are wow'd by her recovery. YAY! So this is a little continue on getting better and Love ya card. :)

It's from the Hello Kitty cartridge, obviously ;). It takes a while to put all of the little pieces on but it's worth it. It is a shaped card in the shape of the bed.

Thanks for looking and be sure to check out all of the challenges and prizes at My Pink Stampers site.

MPS Challenge #8: One Color

Can I just say that I love the color red? :) It's my fave. We are to use 1 color, 1 neutral and a flower on our project. The paper and ribbon is from PTI. The flowers are from Prima and then I used little pearl accents in the middle of them. I used Swiss Dots Cuttlebug folder on part of the page. The stamp set it from My Pink Stampers new Family & Friends stamp set.

Thanks for looking. Go to My Pink Stampers site for more details on todays challenges and prizes!

MPS Challenge #7: For Dad

The cut is from the Everyday Paper Dolls cartridge. It is the fisherman's hat. My dad is a fisherman but I thought it looked a lot like the hats he wears when he is outside. (He's bald) ;) I double cut the hat in the plaid and in the brown then cut out the band from the brown and added it to the plaid one. I then added metal brads to the band. I wish I would have made the hat a little bigger but that's OK.

The stamp sentiment is from the new My Pink Stampers Family & Friends set. They are on pre-order now. For details go to the MPS site.

Thanks for looking and for more details on the challenge go to the My Pink Stamper site.

MPS Challenge #4: I Like You the Least

**If you don't have a lot of cartridges use your least favorite cut on the ones that you do have.**

I wanted to do this project because I bought a cartridge that everyone I talked to said you just 'Had to Have'. So I bought it and looked in the booklet and felt a little deflated. It is a great cartridge if used for scrapbooking in my opinion but harder for card makers like me. So I wanted to force myself to use this cartridge on a card project. The cartridge used: Graphically Speaking.

I made a 5 1/2 x 5 1/2 card and rounded the corners. I used the circle cut on page 56 cut at 5". I then used the icon butterfly cut on page 57 at 3". I also used the blackout butterfly cut at 3". Then I cut the blackout cut again in black at 3 1/2" to create a shadow because there is no shadow feature.

The stamp is from the My Pink Stamper Everyday Occasions stamp set. The base paper and ribbon is from Stampin Up! and the designer paper used on the circle and butterfly is from Doodlebug.

Here is another card using the same cartridge:
