A Little Break

Hi Crafters!  I just wanted to give a heads up that I'm taking a break this week.  This week is my last week this semester at school so things are a little hectic.

I did want to share something with you though.  I was having a bad weekend and feeling a little sorry for myself.  My aunt sent this to me and it really made me think.  Hope you enjoy it and hopefully it will help you on bad days as well.  :)

Episode 72: I Appreciate You

This card was made with my Imagine using the Best Friends Imagine cartridge.  The frame and all of its layers were cut at 5".  For my sentiment I used the My Pink Stampers Fabulous Phrases stamp set.  One of my faves!  :)

Inside:

This is an A2 sized card cut at 8.5" x 5.5" and scored at 4.25".  The next layer is cut at 4" x 5.25" and then my final layer is 3.75" x 5".  I used the D'Vine Swirls Cuttlebug Embossing folder for my yellow background.

I'm also submitting this card to the Creative Critterz Imaginations blog to try and be on their design team.

Welcome to Day 4 (and last day) of my Super Fun Birthday Week!  Today my guest designer is Glora with Glora's Crafts.  Glora is my crafting bestie, which is funny because I've only known her for about 10 months.  We left comments on each others blogs like we all do for each other.  Then the Cricut Circle announced they were going to be in SLC (my town) for a Cricut Swarm and it was open to non-Circle members so I decided to go.  I then saw on Glora's blog she was going to go by herself too so I emailed her asking if she wanted to meet up and go together so we're not by ourselves.  We got a long so well and we've been friends ever since.  Glora is so super sweet and I'm so glad I met her.  She is very supportive in all I do and is very complimentary of projects that I post where I'm thinking 'Why the HECK did I make that???'.  It's what friends do.  :)  I'm so glad I met her.  I really appreciate her.

On to her project...

OK, seriously?!  I love this card!!!  She made a card of Kyla wishing me Happy Birthday!  Love it!!!  :)  I just got the card in the mail today (Thursday) and it is even cuter in person!  Be sure to head on over to her blog to find out the details of how she made it.

A BIG THANK YOU TO GLORA!

The following are the goodies that I am giving away today:

Since this is the last day I'm giving away a Cricut cartridge.  For my birthday giveaway I'm giving away a wedding packet.  lol  First there is the Sweethearts Cricut cartridge (my fave wedding/relationship one) Close to My Heart rub-ons and white ribbon, wedding charms, diamond bling, and flower embellishments.

Here is her card.  I love it!  It is so colorful and fun!

Super Fun Birthday Project & Giveaway - Day 1 w/ Janis!

First can I say I just love my Birthday Button my friend Glora's husband made for my blog.  Isn't it the cutest?  That is one of my favorite pictures of my little girl dog Kyla.  Love it.  Thanks Ryan!

Before I get the party started I wanted to let you know what I have planned this week.  I have a guest crafter that is making a project for my blog today through Friday.  I also have a giveaway each day as well.  This is going to be a lot of fun!  Be sure to tell your crafting friends.  :)

My first guest crafter is Janis with Pause Dream Enjoy and the Paper Playtime Challenge blogs.  She is our leader over at the Paper Playtime challenge and is just the sweetest lady.  She contacted me to be on her design team at a time in my crafting "career" where I was feeling really down.  It was just what I needed and I so appreciate her and all she does for me.  So I of course had to have her be one of my guest designers for my birthday week.  :)

Here is her project she made for my blog.  She made a matchbook mini album and it is SO cute!!!

Make sure you head on over to her blog for instructions on this project and to see more pictures on the detail of this super fun mini album.  She is also giving away this mini album to one lucky winner.  Just leave a message on her post on her blog.

The following are the goodies that I am giving away today:
Prima 6"x6" Reflections Collection Paper Stack
Prima 6"x6" Moulin Rouge Collection Paper Stack
Petaloo Blue & Green Paper Flowers

To be eligible to win leave one comment on this post with a way to get a hold of you.  You don't have to be a follower of my blog to win but I won't kick you out if you are.  :)  You have until Sunday, July 17th, 6pm MT to leave a comment be eligible to win.

I'll announce all of the winners on Monday, July 18th.

Summer Challenge

OK, so this is "technically" not a birthday post but it does have a giveaway.  You just have to participate in the challenge to be eligible for it.  "Technically" my birthday week starts tomorrow but please enjoy this post and try for the challenge.  It is a lot of fun!  To participate you need to create a project, of any kind, that has the theme of Summer.  Then submit the project over at the Paper Playtime Challenge.  I am sponsoring this challenge so that is why I am including it in my birthday week.  :)

I was asked to create a poster that was announcing our church Summer party.  I had a lot of fun making this project.  The size of the poster is 14" x 22".  I put (2) 12" x 12" light blue cardstock down for my sky.  I then cut down the same color cardstock to 8.5" x 11" and printed my message in black on it w/ my computer and glued that down so it blended into the main background.

Enjoy!

The goodies I will be giving away are the following:

This prize includes the following:
Making Memories Whimsy Embellishment Kit:  100 Buttons, Die cut shapes, Chipboard Alphas & 40 Printed Flowers.  Total of 214 pieces plus a cute box it's in. :)
Making Memories Hul-la-ba-loo 5"x7" Mini Book Kit:  Spiral bound mini book, Cardstock, Trim

To be eligible you need to submit a project at the Paper Playtime Challenge.  Not here.

Now create something Summery and submit it over at the Paper Playtime Challenge.  Starting tomorrow I will have a guest create a project for my blog and I will be having a giveaway.  So make sure you come back!  ;)

Wedding Card

My parents needed a wedding card made so this is the one I threw together.  I like the classiness of it and I love the colors.  :)  I only cut out the silhouette for my cut.  I didn't want to do all of the layers.  Keep things streamlined and simple.  The sentiment is from the My Pink Stampers Love-a-licious stamp set.   Enjoy!

This is an A2 size card.  The black is the base and it is cut at 5.5" x 8.5" scored at 4.25".  The scarlet layer is cut at 5.25" x 4" and then the white layer is cut at 5" x 3.75".

Card Recipe:
A2 Size Card
Sweethearts Cricut cartridge – cut at 4.9”
Nestabilities Label 8 dies
D’vine Swirls Cuttlebug Embossing folder
PTI – True Black, White, Scarlet Jewel cardstock
PTI – Scarlet Jewel Satin Ribbon

Episode 71: Simply Crafts with Glora & Pam - Cutie Patootie Baby Card

It's the first Wednesday of the month so it's Glora & Pam day!  Woo Hoo!!!  :)  It's Glora's turn to choose the cut and she chose the baby sleeping on the moon on the Baby Steps.  We could do the girl or boy cut.  I chose the boy cut because I wanted to make a card that I could use for a boy or a girl so I didn't want the bow on the head.  :)  I also decided that I didn't want the baby sleeping on the moon.  I decided to cut out a pillow and have the baby laying on the pillow.  The pillow is cut from the Car Decals cartridge.  In the video you can see the original pillow cut.  It had a dog on it and I cut him off.

And I have to say, the Peachy Keen face stamp really makes this baby come alive and really makes it Cutie Patootie.  :)  Enjoy!

Now be sure to head on over to Glora's blog to see what she did w/ the cut.  She is so talented and amazing!  I love how she does her projects.  She definitely goes above and beyond.  :)

Card Recipe:
Baby Steps Cricut Cartridge - 2.7"
Car Decals Cricut Cartridge - 4.8"

Episode 70: What is the Pictionary Word?

Did the title of this post capture your attention?  I hope so!  :)  I made this card for my Dad's bday.  It's from a memory of a family inside joke.  The main story is we were playing Pictionary and it was my Dad's turn to draw.  He drew an image of a path leading to a volcano, with lots of trees around and village people going up the path carrying a virgin sacrifice.  It sort of looked liked this:

Here is an up close look of my sacrificial virgin.  Aren't I just a fabulous artist?  lol

(First, sorry the section where I'm trying to put the stamp on is so long, I thought I had edited that out.  It wasn't until I was watching it tonight that I realized I didn't).

So what was the word that my dad pulled?  Sacrifice?  Village?  Nope!  Volcano!  Yep, my dad drew a whole scene for the word volcano AND he barely even had time to draw the volcano before time ran out.  No one guessed correctly on what he was trying to draw.  It was so funny and we've never let it go since.  :)  So what was your guess of what my Dad was trying to draw?
