MPS Challenge #3: Think Outside the Box

OK, so this isn't really thinking outside the box for most but since I only make cards this was a little out of my zone, even if it was a little on the simple side. I originally put the stickers on the top but I'm not sure I like them, I liked the look of the plain bookmark. I mean, I think they looked OK but they just weren't user friendly.

I used the bookmark cut from the Animal Kingdom cartridge in blackout. I used the same cut for the labels just undid the link on my Gypsy and cut them at real dial size for the main label and a border. The bookmark was cut at 5". The inner box label was cut at 1.25" x 0.67". The outer border label was cut at 1.38" x 0.87".

The stamps are from the new My Pink Stamper Family & Friends stamp set. Love them!

The paper and stickers are from a K&Co and Paper Studio paper kits.

Thanks for looking! Hope you participate in the My Pink Stamper Challenge!

MPS Challenge #2: Using Scraps

I needed to make a birthday card for my SIL and her favorite color combination are pink and brown together. So I opened up my PTI folders and lo and behold I had a ton of cut down papers in these colors. Perfect!

This is my favorite present cut. It is just the cutest! It is from the Sweet Treats cartridge. The paper is from PTI. I used a Signo white uni-ball pen for the white stitching. I also used the Spots & Dots Cuttlebug embossing folder.

Thanks for looking! Hope you participate in the My Pink Stamper challenge!

MPS Challenge #1: Mother's Day

I cut the oval and scalloped oval from the Gypsy font "cartridge" that was loaded on my gypsy. They didn't have a plain scallop that I could see so I used one of the alpha scalloped cuts and since my white oval was going on top of it I thought it wouldn't matter and it doesn't! You can't tell. The coral flourish was used with the EK Success wave flourish punch. It is just twisted around the ribbon. I got this idea from Gina K Designs. You can see how she does this by going HERE.

The sentiment is from My Pink Stampers Everyday Occasions stamp set. The cardstock used is from SU! & PTI. The ribbon is from PTI. I embossed the white paper with the Swiss Dots Cuttlebug Embossing folder. Don't you just love this folder? It can be used so many ways.

Thanks for looking! Hope you try out the challenge at My Pink Stamper's site!!

MPS Spring Treats Design!

When I was thinking about what to do for this project I realized Mother's Day was coming up and wondered what my Mom would like. Her favorite candy is 'Good & Plenty' and they just happened to be the right colors I was looking for! The flower was cut using the Forever Young cartridge and the leaves using the Give a Hoot cartridge. All of the paper and ribbon is from PTI. I also used the Swiss Dots Cuttlebug folder. On the container I used the My Pink Stamper's Simply Sweet Occasions stamp set which you can get at Custom Crops. I used SU! punches for the tag. I got the tin container from Specialty Bottle.

Be sure to check out Amy Jo's project by going to the My Pink Stampers site. It's fabulous!

Digital Card Making

I had downloaded a few free digital designer paper kits from Gina K Designs website a while ago and finally decided to try it out. I needed to make a couple of thank you cards and thought that this would be the perfect time. The base papers are from PTI, the sentiment I printed from my computer as well. And yes I know there is an extra parenthesis at the front of Thanks, it's an inside joke for both of them. ;) That's what is great about printing your own sentiments sometimes you can really make it personal. But then using stamps makes it SOOOO much easier. :) The great thing about printing your own designer papers is that it's free, the bad thing, well it's really not because you use a lot of ink if you make it a great quality printing. But this was fun! Try it sometime!

Don't forget to enter my blog candy giveaway by going HERE, if you haven't done so already. Giveaway closes on Tues night.

Big Head.... Little Arms...

I don't know if any of you have seen the movie "Meet the Robinsons". It is pretty funny and the funniest line in the movie is the quote that I put inside the card. My brother loves that part of the movie so I thought I would send him a funny card. Who doesn't love to get a card in the mail and just laugh? :) He is on a mission for my church in Florida.

The T-Rex cut is from Create A Critter. I tried to do the 3 brads in a line and put them evenly apart but I wasn't completely successful. Guess I need to make myself a template or something. :) I printed the message on cardstock w/ my printer. I used the Textured Mesh cuttlebug embossing folder. I think it looks like Dino/Lizard skin.

**Side note, if you haven't see "How to Train Your Dragon" yet. GO. I saw it today and LOVED IT!!!! So cute and funny.**

Thinking of You

I love this card. It turned out better than I thought it would. A coworker of my moms went into the hospital and they wanted a "thinking of you" card for her. So it needed to be bigger than the normal size I usually make so everyone in her department can sign it. It's a 5x7 card. I've used many cartridges for this one:
Create A Critter - Sun & Clouds
Walk in My Garden - Tulips
Plantin Schoolbook - Grass
ZooBalloo - Tree

I've double cut pretty much everything for extra depth. I also welded 2 of the grass cuts so it would fit the larger card with my Gypsy. I wish I would have taken a side pic so you could have seen the dimension on it. Some of the tulips are raised and some aren't. Just the flower portion, not the stems. If you click on the picture you can see a little of the depth. And unfortunately I can't tell you where I got the sentiment stamp from, I don't have the original package for it anymore and forgot to write it down.

Thank you Cards w/ Create a Critter

Can I just say that I LOVE Create a Critter? :) I needed to make a couple of thank you cards and the people I needed to make them for are into dogs so that worked out perfect.

This first one was for my vet. Tavis has been having a lot of health problems lately and he has been going through a battery of tests. My vet has been wonderful with him and just really cares for his patients. He emails me asking for updates on Tavis to see how he is doing. Just love this man. Seriously, if there is anyone in the West Jordan Utah area and you are in need of a vet, go to Dr. Sicklesmith with Amor Animal Hospital. Anywho, the base paper is from PTI, the paper on the dog is basic cardstock that I've bought at Roberts and the stamp is from My Pink Stampers Simply Sweet Occasions that you can buy at Custom Crops. The border punch (Isn't it the Cutest!) is an EK Success border punch.

**Funny story on this card, I ended up cutting out this dog 3 times. The first time I inked the edges but didn't like it so I cut another, then when I was getting ready to stamp the statement I dropped the ink pad right on the dogs face so I had to cut it out a 3rd time. :)**

This next card was for my friend Kim. She's been really helpful w/ my dogs, especially Tavis. The base paper and the paper used on the dog is basic cardstock that I bought at Roberts. The striped paper is from Doodlebug boy stack that I bought through scrapbookingsteals.com. The stamp and border punch are the same as in the previous card.

This is the inside of the card. I LOVE this stamp! It reminded me so much of my puppies. I got it from stampingbella.com. The name of the stamp is Butch & Mimi #CC122. They are too cute. :)

Balloons!!!!!!

I created this card for my uncle. It's similar to the one I made for my brother just bigger balloons and different colors. The paper came from the DCWV Rockstar Stack. I used the Stretch Your Imagination cartridge for the balloons and the tiny bubbles Cuttlebug embossing folder on the white paper (basic Roberts cardstock). The kraft paper is PTI.

Thank you PC for this WONDERFUL cartridge!!! :)

Here is a thank you card for someone special. I used the Create a Critter cartridge and the stamp is from the My Pink Stamper's Simply Sweet Occasions stamp set. The paper is from PTI and the border punch is a Martha Stewart punch.

Baptism Card - Ryan

My nephew is getting baptized this weekend and I wanted to make a card for him. He just turned 8. The CTR means Choose The Right. A reminder for kids in my church to make the right choices.

The cuts come from Everyday Paper Dolls (Person and clothes) and PDDU (the shield). I used Peachy Keen stamps for the face. The base paper and designer paper is from PTI. The shield paper is from DCWV Metallics paper pack. The paper doll is just generic cardstock.

Thanks for stopping by and looking!

Non-Cricut Male Card

I wanted to take a moment to thank everyone for visiting my blog and quite a few of you signing up to follow my blog. It's all really surreal. Friday morning before my blog was announced by Robyn w/ My Pink Stamper I had 5 followers, 4 of whom I knew, now I have almost 50! Thank you so much for your kind comments as well. I hope that I can live up to the name of MPS Design Team member. ~ Thank You!!!!

I needed to make a quick card last night for my brother. I love the colors on it. I like the look of this ribbon for a male card. It's not a bow but it's not just a strip of ribbon either.

The dark grey base paper is called Smokey Shadow and the yellow is called Lemon Tart both from PTI. The ribbon is Lemon Tart satin from PTI as well. The designer paper is from two different pieces of paper from the My Minds Eye Spectrums Warm paper pack. The metal accents, well, I'm not really sure where I got them. I believe it's from Making Memories which I got from Scrapbooksteals.com. Which has daily deals.
