Birthday Presents!

I first want to say "HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOM!!!"  I'll be posting her card next week.  I want to make sure she gets it first since I know she checks my blog.  :)

This card I made for a friend of mines birthday.  The presents were cut from the Simply Charmed Cricut cartridge and are two separate cuts.  I welded their shadows together on my Gypsy then layered their cuts to go one on top of each other.  One present is directly down on the shadow and the 2nd present is pop dotted off for more dimension.

I used two different stamps from the My Pink Stampers Spectacular Sayings stamp set for my sentiment.

On to the card....  Enjoy!

Good Luck Missionary

Here is a card I made for a young man in my church that is heading out on his mission for two years.  I can't remember where he is going but I know it's in the states so that is why I chose to do more of a red/white/blue theme.  This image is cut from the Simply Charmed Cricut cartridge.  I cut out everything but the face.  I love the Simply Charmed cartridge but not a fan of everything having a face on it.  Luckily I have my Gypsy to hide those cuts.  :)

The designer paper for the tie came from my Imagine.  I used the Heirloom Imagine cartridge and printed off a sheet of that paper.  I then used that in my Expression to cut out the image.  The reason I did this is because I wanted to tilt the top knot at an angle so it looks like the tie is actually "tied".  If that makes any sense.  :)  I hand cut out the badge.

The card is an A2 size card, the red layer is 4" x 5.25" and the Simply Charmed shirt/tie cut is at 5".

Episode 69: Surprise Bottle

Today's project is a little something that I make for my Primary kids (age 9) that I teach in church for their birthdays.  They love it because it is a surprise on what's inside and a surprise on trying to figure out how to open it up.  :)  This is a perfect gift to also do for your friends birthday, neighbor gifts, etc...  Enjoy!

MPS Design Team Day - Thinking of You

It's the My Pink Stampers design team day!  The theme for our projects is Bright and Fun.  I don't know how fun my project is but it is bright.  :)  I decided to make a tall card.  These are really fun to make.  You take a piece of cardstock that is 8" x 9".  Score down the 4" mark until you have your base sized at 4" x 9".  These fit in business size envelopes.

The stamp set I used is Robyn's new stamp set called Spectacular Sayings.  This stamp set is a must have, it is so versatile.  :)

Make sure you head on over to Robyn's blog to see the other design team's projects.

I hope you had a wonderful Father's Day or just a relaxing weekend.  Mine was really nice.  I wanted to let you know that tomorrow is the My Pink Stampers Design team day so make sure you come back tomorrow to see a new project.

To share a little something today, here is a short video of my dad's dog Misty and my dog Kyla fighting/playing over a toy.  It's really cute.  Sorry the video gets a little jumpy towards the end.

Father's Day Framed Project

My sister-in-law found a really fun picture of my brother and his 2 older kids and asked if I would find some way to showcase it.  It took me a while to come up with the idea but I really like the way it turned out.  So did she so that's a good thing.  :)  The decal images are from the Car Decal cartridge.  Now they don't have just a face image so I trimmed off the bodies by hand.

For the sentiment I put in an oval on my Gypsy and then manually entered in the words Funny Faces from the Don Juan alphabet Cricut cartridge.

Card Recipe:
Shadow Frame Box - Got at Michaels
Don Juan Cricut cartridge
Car Decals Cricut cartridge
PTI - Yellow buttons, Golden Harvest, White and Blueberry Sky cardstock

Monochromatic Thank You Card

I was involved in a card swap recently and we needed to make a card that was monochromatic (different shades of the same color) and to have bling on it somewhere.  This is the card I came up with.  I used different shades of pink.  I'm not much of a 'everything pink' kind of gal but I really liked the way they turned out.  Simple but nice.

This flower is from the 'Mother's Day Bouquet' Cricut cartridge.  The flowers are cut at 2.75", 3.45", and 4.25".  The center circle is from the same cartridge and cut at 1.25".

I embossed each flower differently to make it more dimensional and just more interesting.  The only place I could think of to put bling on is the center of the flower.  I didn't want it to be too much.

Here is the inside of the card:

I used the My Pink Stampers Everyday Sentiments stamp set.  It's her new 6" x 8" stamp set.  LOVE IT!!!  :)

If you are here for the My Pink Stampers Blog Hop click HERE or just see the post below this one.

Happy Monday!  Today's is Paper Playtime challenge day!  I love this challenge blog because it really does challenge you to try new things.  This weeks challenge is to make a Z-Fold card.  I've never made one before so this was a challenge for me.

To make a basic Z-Fold card cut your cardstock in 1/2 length-wise, so your cardstock will be 4.25" x 11".  Then you'll score at 2.75" and 5.5".  That will make the Z-fold card design.  Now just decorate!  You can really make some cool things w/ this type of fold.  If you head on over to the Paper Playtime Challenge blog you can see the many different designs.  I went basic since this is my first one.  :)

Here is my card closed:

Now Open:

Welcome to the My Pink Stampers Pinkalicious Blog Hop!  If you came from Alex's Blog you're in the right place.  If this was your first stop and you would like to start at the beginning head on over to the My Pink Stampers blog.  The theme of this blog hop is All About Summer!  And I'm focusing on what Summer means to me.  RELAXATION!!!  This is my idea of relaxation - the sun, no worries and reading a book.  That's why I also chose this My Pink Stampers stamp 'Don't Sweat the Small Stuff'.  Perfect for trying to relax.  :)  That stamp is from the Fabulous Phrases stamp set.  In the video I show how I did the paper piecing on my girl.  She originally was the Hula girl on the Life's a Beach cartridge.  Enjoy!

**I ended up loving this card so much I cut off the other half of the card to make it just a flat image and I'm going to frame it and put it in my craft room.**

To make a tall card cut your cardstock at 8" x 9" and score at 4".  So your card will be 4" x 9".  This size card will fit in a business size envelope.

Happy Fathers Day Card

Here is a simple and fun Father's Day card I made using my Imagine machine.  The cut is from the Car Decals Cricut cartridge and I flood filled it in w/ my Heirloom Imagine cartridge.  The designer paper in the background is also from the Heirloom cartridge.  That cart has some really classy colors and designs on it.  Love it!  And to finish off my card I used the My Pink Stampers Happiest Moments stamp set.  That stamp set is a must have.

I'm also entering this card in the Creative Critterz Imagination challenge for Father's Day.  Super Fun!

Simple Monogram Cards

In the past month my brother has had two of his friends get married so he asked if I would make a wedding card for each of them.  Although he did give me some guidelines.  Well, one, which is 'Don't make it cutesy'.  LOL  Ah, I love boys, they crack me up.  So I decided to make a simple but elegant monogram card.  I used the monogram from the Tie the Knot Cricut cartridge.  It's my favorite monogram cut, especially for weddings.  The colors are also bright and not girly so I thought they might be OK.  I also used a striped Cuttlebug embossing folder for a contradicting look than the curly monogram.  My brother loved the cards.  Thought they were perfect.  :)  YAY!

Happy Wednesday!  It's the first Wednesday of the month which means it's Simply Crafts w/ Glora and Pam day!  Woo Hoo!  It's my turn to choose the cut and I chose the rattle image on the Sugar & Spice Cricut Lite cartridge.  I chose this cut because I needed to make some baby cards.  I've had this idea in my head for a while now and I'm so glad I finally had time to try it out.  It was a lot of fun make.  Make sure you watch the video to see the rattle in motion.  :)

I had the base, sentiment and ribbon on the card already made.  They were from a card swap I was doing and I had extra which saved me a lot of time on making these cards.

Now make sure you head on over to Glora's blog to check out her creation.  She is really fantastic on her creations.  I'm always amazed at what she does.
