Episode 52: Code Monkey!

I like making cards that are specific to the type of person, their likes or their personalities.  I think it makes creating the project more fun and personal.  So here is the card I made for my brothers birthday.  He is a computer programmer and I guess they are called Code Monkey's so that is the thought behind this card; having a monkey playing on the laptop.  :)

PPC Digi Monday - Happy Easter

It's time for the new Paper Playtime Challenge!  It's Digi Monday which means we are showcasing digital images on our projects.  The challenge theme is anything goes.  So you can submit anything for the next two weeks at Paper Playtime challenge to be eligible to win the prizes.  We are being sponsored by numerous Digi Stamp companies.  The digi stamp that I am showcasing is from Prairie Fairy called Bo Billy Bunny.  I thought he was adorable.  The idea that I had was to make a boy Easter card.  So I printed the bunny on blue cardstock and then highlighted some of the areas w/ my Versamark pen to make the areas darker.   I like the way it turned out.

Be sure to head on over to the Paper Playtime to participate in the challenge.  Also head on over to Prairie Fairy's blog to check what other creations they sale.  So cute!

Episode 51: Imagine That Blog Hop & Giveaway

Welcome to the Imagine That blog hop!  If you are here from Monica's then you are in the right place.  If this is your first stop and would like to start at the beginning head on over to Sandra's blog.

I'm really excited about this blog hop.  I just got my Imagine machine last week so this forced me to make sure that my machine was up to date and for me to start using it.  And I am loving it.  So far my favorite thing is using the patterns on the Imagine cartridges and combining them with my normal Cricut cartridges. That is what I did for today's project.  I love the softness of it.  Perfect for Spring.  And can I say I'm SO ready for Spring?  We're suppose to have snow again this weekend (I'm in UT).  SO ready even for high 50's/low 60's weather.  Until then, dreaming about it while I make Spring creations will have to do.  :)

I needed to make a Get Well card so I decided to use my Imagine and include it into this hop.  I used the Best Friends Imagine Cart and did the layers with it.  I only used the top portion of the flowers for the flower layer.  I just trimmed it myself.  I like the way it looks.  The card turned out better than I hoped for.

For this blog hop I'm giving away Sassafras Felties.  I chose the ones that reminded me of Spring and Summer.  :)  To be eligible to win please leave 1 comment on this post with a way to get a hold of you.  You do not have to be a follower to win but you're more than welcome to follow if you want.  :)  You have until Monday, March 28th, at 10pm MST, to leave a comment.  I'll announce the winner on Tuesday, March 29th.

There will also be 3 grand prize winners for this hop.  Make sure you leave a comment on each blog that is on this hop to be eligible to win a Peachy Keen Assortment stamp set or a Scrappy Moms Stamp set.

Your next stop is Nadia's blog.  Enjoy the hop!

Episode 50: Have a Mooningful Birthday!

It's my sisters birthday next week and I was trying to come up with something that is funny and special for her.  She isn't a girly girl and can have a weird and irreverent sense of humor sometimes.  :)  So my mom and I were going back and forth on ideas and she said in an offhand manner, make her a card where it's mooning at her.  Well, I took that and ran with it.  LOL

I also wanted to participate in Janis' fold card challenge so I was searching online for different type of fold cards and the Peek a Boo card just fit PERFECTLY with the type of card I want to make.  So here is my card and I go through how to make it in the video.

Oh my goodness, isn't it hilarious!  It seriously makes me laugh every time I see it.  She will love it.

Can't believe it's 50 videos already!  :)

MPS DT - Scrapbook Layout

Today is the My Pink Stampers Design Team day.  The project we were asked to make was a scrapbook layout.  Now, true confession time.  I've NEVER made a scrapbook layout before.  EVER.  So I knew that this would be a challenge for me.  The reason I've never made a scrapbook page before is because I don't have anything to scrapbook.  No kids, no husband/wedding.  Just me and my dogs.  So I decided to make a LO that dealt w/ the only subjects I know - my dogs.  :)  Also, I wanted to make sure that I used the pages I created and since I don't have a scrapbook I decided to make mine into wall decoration.  This will be a picture happy post because I LOVED the way these turned out.  LOL

First, for my dog Tavis:

For his titles I used the My Pink Stampers Love-alicious stamp set for 'Sweetheart' and Family & Friends stamp set for 'Something Special'.

Now on to Kyla's page:

For her titles I used the My Pink Stampers Everyday Life stamp set for 'Princess' and 'Little Diva!'.

Here they are all framed and up on my wall:

For their nameplates I got this idea from Maria with Believe Dream Create.  Thank You So Much Maria!!!!  I used Gypsy Font for the letters and I can't remember where I got the frame.  Sorry.  The mirror paper is called Plastic Mirror Sheet by Darice.    I got the engraving tip for the Cricut from Chomas Creations.   While the mat was still loaded after I engraved the images I changed the engraving tip to my deep cut blade and did multicut at 4.  Yeah, it didn't cut all the way through but I had already unloaded the mat so I cut out the border by hand.  Luckily it was a very simple border.  :)

I used the new DCWV Immortal Love stack for the background paper.  Can you we just say it should be called "The Twilight Stack".  :)  So if you are looking for paper to make Twilight scrapbook pages or cards this is the perfect stack for it.  It also had the perfect red for my background color.  I then printed off all of the images in B&W then cut out a white mat and a black mat to go around each pic.  I really wanted it simplistic since I was using it as wall decoration.

Don't forget to stop by my blog on Thursday for my HILARIOUS card and also on Saturday for a blog hop I'm in.  Thanks so much for stopping by!  I had a ton of fun making this project.  :)

Episode 49: Another Male Birthday Card

Here is another male birthday card.  This is for my uncle.  My dad's family grew up on a farm and mining communities and I thought this reminded me of the trucks they would have driven back then.  It's a simple card but I like it and I think he will too.

A couple of extra things - I have the funniest card that I made and I will be posting it on Thursday.  Be sure to come back then.  ALSO, I am in an Imagine blog hop on Saturday.  Be sure you come by for that.  I will be providing a giveaway that is not Imagine related so everyone can participate in the hop.

First Imagine Card!

If you are looking for the Flaunt it Fridays Birthday Bash Blog Hop
click HERE or see the post below this one.

Hi Everyone!  I'm so excited!!!  I got the Imagine.  Woo Hoo!  :)  I had a few technical glitches that were a bit frustrating but I found work arounds and fixed it.  YAY!!!!  So here is my first card.  I used a regular cartridge - B is for Boy and mixed it with a pattern paper Imagine cartridge - Hopscotch.  When I saw this cloud paper I knew I had to use it for my first project.  So I created the project around the cloud paper.  :)  The paper on the plane is the same as the mat.  I love how the Imagine sizes down the designer paper depending on the size of the object.  For example, if I used the cloud paper on the plane the clouds would have been a lot smaller.

I'll still use my regular Cricut machine along w/ the Imagine.  I have SO much designer paper that I have bought that I need to use.  Anywho, hope you like.  It was a lot of fun to make.  The only thing I wish I could change on the Imagine is to have the hide contour button.  Maybe it does, I just haven't seen it.  But I don't like having the extra cut lines being shown on my cuts. (See the area around the stars)

Card Recipe:
B is for Boy Cricut Cartridge
Hopscotch Imagine Cartridge
PTI - Kraft paper & White paper
The Twinery - Lemondrop Twine

FIF Blog Hop & Giveaways - Birthday Bash Projects

Welcome to the Flaunt it Friday's Birthday Bash Blog Hop!  If you came here from Sheandra's site you are in the right place.  If this is your first stop and would like to start at the beginning head on over to the Flaunt it Friday's blog.  For this blog hop we are to make the bunny on the Birthday Bash Cricut cartridge and one other project from the same cartridge.  I made this bunny on an earlier project this week so I wanted to make sure it was different looking.  My previous project was very Easter-y and girly  so I changed the colors to make this card for a boy.

For my next project I created a bookmark.  I'm going to give this to my nephew, hoping to get him to read more.  :)  He's reading his first, on his own, book right now.  So need to encourage!

How I made the background paper on the bookmark was using the dots stamp from the My Pink Stampers Simply Sweet Occasions stamp set, inked it w/ Versamark ink and just stamped all over.  Easy background designer paper.  :)

For my blog giveaway I am giving away these adorable Petaloo flowers.  I'll also include a little something extra, a surprise, for you.

To be eligible to win please leave 1 comment on this post with a way to get a hold of you.  You don't have to be a follower to win but I don't mind if you want to be a follower.  :)  You can leave a message for this giveaway until Sunday, March 20th, 10pm MST.  I'll announce the winner on Monday, March 21st.

If you are here for the My Pink Stamper blog hop and giveaway
see post below or click HERE.

It's the 2nd Monday of the month which means it's Paper Playtime Challenge time!  This challenge is going to last 2 weeks.  There are 3 challenges to choose from: Purple & Green; Pink & Glitter or Critter & a Rhyme.  I chose to do the Critter and a Rhyme.  This is to honor Dr. Seuss so I decided to make a project in honor of my Fave Dr. Seuss book: "There's a Wocket in my Pocket"

I decided to make a real pocket w/ a little monster hanging out of it.  I thought the monster could be used as a tag or bookmark.  I'm not really sure how I'm going to use this card to give away but I am in love w/ the way it turned out.  I might end up keeping it.  I love it!  :)

Be sure to head on over to Paper Playtime to participate in the challenge.  Our sponsors for this week are:  Cravin Scrappin - giving away the April Showers Cricut cartridge and Paper Pretties - giving away Time for Cake clear stamp set (it's so cute!).

Episode 46: MPS Blog Hop - Prayer Chart

Today is the My Pink Stampers Pinkalicious Blog Hop!  Woo Hoo!  So much fun.  If you came from Sonia's blog you're in the right place.  If you started here and would like to start off at the beginning of the hop head on over to Robyn's blog.  The theme for this blog hop is Spring.  We can make a project that deals w/ Spring or use Spring colors.  I decided on Spring colors.

I had so much fun making this project.  I've had it in my head for a few weeks now but it's nothing like making it the day of the hop in a rush.  lol  I have just been so busy w/ work and school, but at least it's done!  :)

I wanted to create something that wasn't a card and so I came up with a magnetic prayer chart.  What gave me the idea is the stamp from the More Faithful Sayings stamp set.  It says 'A family that prays together, stays together.'  I wanted to create something that a child can be involved in.  So each day one of the kids can move the magnet from day to night to help the family remember to do their morning and evening family prayers.  I made this for a friend of mine.  Hope she likes it!  :)

OK, 5th times the charm on finally getting this video uploaded.  Sorry it took so long.

For this blog hop I am giving away the Happiest Moments stamp set from My Pink Stamper.  I love this stamp set.  It can be used all year long.  To win this stamp set please leave 1 comment on this post with a way to get a hold of you.  You do not have to be a follower to win the stamp set.  This giveaway will close on Monday March 14th, 10pm MST.  I will announce the winner on Tuesday the 15th.

James. Sterling James.

So it's my brothers birthday next week and I needed to come up w/ something for him.  How this card came about is that he had at least 3 people tell him while he was on his mission that he looked like a younger version of Daniel Craig 007.  He does have the same coloring, same shaped head and the same kind of eyes.  So anywho, for those that don't know, when the young men are on a mission they have to wear a suit so I'm sure that helped on the identity.  :D  So this is the card I came up with:

I printed the message w/ my computer (obviously).  ;)

Simply Crafts with Glora and Pam - Episode 43: Over the Rainbow

It's the first Wednesday of the month so that means it's Simply Crafts w/ Glora & Pam day!  Woo Hoo!!!  This is our second venture together and I'm still having fun.  Well, who wouldn't right?  :)  For those of you who are new to this holiday (lol) what we do is choose a cut from a cartridge and we make our own versions of it.  It's Glora's turn to choose the cut and she chose the Rainbow w/ Clouds cut on the Once Upon a Princess cartridge.

Have to say, I wasn't sure how to alter this cut so I just kept it simple and to the point.  I did choose to make it all pink to make it a very girly card.  I used the My Pink Stampers Sweet Baby stamp set for the sentiment.  I was able to curve the sentiment on my acrylic block to fit it perfectly on the rainbow.  Enjoy!

Be sure to head on over to Glora's blog to check out her creation.  She is always amazing in her creations and she sure knows how to finish off a project.
