Episode 120: Bowling Card & Glitter Technique

Hi Crafters!  Here is a bowling card I made my niece for her birthday.  She just turned 11 and is in bowling leagues.  What a different interest for a kid.  I love it!  :)  I go into detail on how I made the glitter marble look on the bowling ball.  What's interesting is the green glitter is actually yellow glitter.  But w/ the black cardstock it changed the color of it to green.

I had the bowling pins against a white background and it just washed out completely.  So I took a sponge dauber and yellow ink and inked up the whole background.  That isn't in the video as I changed it after I filmed.

Check out the ripples in the ball:

This happened because I got impatient and used my heat gun.  lol  Note to self in the future - Just leave it alone to dry!  :)

On a personal note, I hit 90 lbs down this last week.  Woo Hoo!  I can't believe how close I am to 100 lbs down.  I'll definitely be posting it here when I hit that mark.  :)  To know how I did it click on the 'A New Me' tab at the top.

Star Wars Wedding Shower Card

Hi Crafters!  I have an unusual wedding shower card for you today.  My cousin is getting married and our family shower for him and his fiancee is this weekend.  Once I heard he was getting married this card idea came to my mind.  He is a big Star Wars fan and also loves pretty much anything sci-fi and gaming.  So the idea of Han Solo and Princess Leia as the ultimate couple for their card.  :)  I was so grateful I found a cut!  This image actually did have Luke Skywalker also on the cut but I just cut him off.

Oh btw, what gave me this idea besides knowing that he liked Star Wars is he posted on Facebook once saying he was so grateful for his fiancee who would come over and do Star Wars trivia when he was having a bad day.  How cute is that?  :)

To see the original cut go HERE.  It is on the letter V.  I flipped the image so the hand that is showing would be her left hand.  That way I could add a little bling for a wedding ring.

I've never cut out dingbats before.  What a challenge for something that has tiny cuts and so many!  Thank goodness I have a Silhouette for this.  Hardest challenge?  The faces.  The cuts were SO tiny!  So this is what I did.  I put the following face cuts back into their original place.  Then for cuts that were big enough I put glue on the back and then placed them back into the face like a puzzle.  That way I knew where everything went.  For the pieces that were just too tiny I grabbed a black marker and just colored in the lines on the "puzzle" piece.  Hopefully that made sense.  :)

Oh, from what I can tell from their invitation I believe that their colors are teal and black.  We'll see in a few weeks at their wedding.  :)

Easy Wedding Card & New Winners

Hi Crafters!  I have 2 male cousins that are getting married soon.  The first one just got married last weekend so I needed to make his Congrats wedding card and I thought I would make the other one at the same time as well.  So I wanted to share what I usually do for wedding cards.  It's easy, quick, and can be very elegant depending on the colors you use.

I use the monogram and monogram shadow feature on the Tie the Knot Cricut cartridge.  It is a very elegant monogram.  LOVE it for weddings.  I try to also use their colors if I know it based off of their wedding invites.

Here is the first one.  Their invite was black & white so I wasn't quite sure what their colors were so I used black, white and red.  They are HUGE University of Utah fans and that is their colors so it works.  :)  Went to their reception and their colors were yellow and a teal color.  :)

Here is the second one.  Their invite shows that aqua is one of their colors so I made that their accent color.

I also use the D'vine Swirls Cuttlebug Embossing folder on the white cardstock.  It's really elegant and perfect for wedding projects.

I am also announcing two new winners from my birthday week.  They didn't claim their prize :( so two new people get some goodies!  :)

Random Stamp Set - LaneJoy1  Congrats Lane!  :)

Simply Charmed Cricut Cartridge - CallyAnn C   Congrats CallyAnn!  :)

You have one week to contact me with your mailing address, pam@simplypamscreations.com.  If I don't hear from you by next Sunday, Aug 12th the prize will be added back to my prize box to be given out another day.  :)

Episode 119: Flower Cookie Card

Hi Crafters & Bakers! :)  It's the first Friday of the month which means its time for the Cookie Card Challenge between Georganne and I.  If you have no idea what I'm talking about it's a challenge that my cousin Georganne and I do together.  She is a baker and makes cookies and cakes.  The challenge is that I make a card off of one of her cookiess and she makes a cookie off of one of my cards. Super Fun!  :D

This is the cookie that I decided to create:

Super cute huh?  When I bookmarked this cookie on my computer over a year ago I thought that this would be a cute card.  You can see her post HERE.  This is my creation based off that cookie:

Here is a pic of the back of the card.  I didn't make a card that opens and closes.  It's like a postcard of sorts.  More details in the video.

Hi Crafters!  Today is the first Wednesday of the month so that means it's Simply Crafts with Glora and Pam time!  This month we chose to do the present cut from the New Arrival Cricut cartridge.  If you don't have that cartridge any present cut will work.

I took a look at Glora's card and it looks like we had the same idea but for different events.  I think this is the first time that has happened.  lol  :)  LOVE her card!  Gorgeous colors!

In the video I show how to paper piece my cut together.  Here is what it looks like when I took it off the mat:

Here is the card all put together:
