Update...

Hello Friends and Family!  I wanted to give you an update on what the heck is going on w/ my blog.  :)  Sorry, I've been so busy lately.  I've made some resolutions, that I plan to keep, but I also need to be realistic.  I have two jobs right now and don't have a ton of time.  So here is my goal: I plan to post at least 2 projects a week and one of those projects will have a video.  It's more than what I am doing right now but that is my goal.  Then hopefully once I get going I'll get back into the groove again.  :)

You all know that I am on a weight loss program.  Not sure if you know or not but I am a coach for that same program because I believe in it so much.  If it didn't work for me I wouldn't support it, believe me.  If you would like information on it please let me know.  Also, there is a weight loss challenge going on and if you'd like more information on that let me know as well.  :)

Have a safe and Happy New Year!

I'm Dreaming of a Pink Christmas

Hi Crafters and Bakers! It's the first Friday of the month which means it's time for the Cookie and Card Challenge with Georganne and I.  I Love Love Love this one.  I make a paper project from the design of one of my cousins cookies and she makes a cookie off of one of my cards.  Fun!  Here is the cookies that I chose for my project:

Pink Christmas Trees!!!  They are so cute!  :)  Here is my take on them:

Here is how I made the sparkly snow on the first Trees:  I used White Liquid Applique by Marvy; it comes out as a white liquid.  Heat it up w/ a heat gun and it puffs up and looks like snow.  I then added Diamond Stickles on top of it to make it sparkly.

To make the circles on the light pink tree I used my 1/4" & 1/8" circle punches.

Please go over and check out Georganne's blog, LilaLoa.  You'll be amazed by 2 things - 1) Her creative cookies and cakes.  They are AMAZING.  2) Her writing.  She is SO clever.  I love reading her posts.  They really make me laugh.  :)

Simply Crafts Challenge - Reindeer Christmas

Hi Crafters! Today is the first Wednesday of the month so it is time for the Simply Crafts with Glora & Pam! I love this challenge because it gets me crafting. :) It seems lately I haven't had much time for it but this "forces" me in a great way to get the creative juices going. The cut for this challenge is the reindeer cut on the Doodlecharms cartridge. I LOVE this cartridge. It has some adorable, fun, and cute cuts! :) Here is my project:

The embossing folder I used is from Sizzix and it is an ornament design that was perfect for the background of this card.  The shiney ribbon I got from Michaels.  I love the silver web design ribbon, so fun!

Of course the PKS stamp is perfect for the face.  I used a stamp that just had eyes then hand drew the mouth.  After my pictures were taken I added red blingy stickles to the nose and glossy accents to the eyes.  It looks better but it's almost midnight and I didn't want to retake the pics so just take my word for it.  :)

To participate in the challenge head on over to our challenge blog - Simply Crafts.  Also head on over to Glora's blog to check out her project and other projects she has made, she seriously is amazing!

Baptism Invitation

Hi Crafters! Today's project is something I made over a month ago. Yeah, it's taken me this long to post it. :)  My nephew was baptized in October and this was the invitation that I made for his friends, family, and Primary teachers.  It's a simple invitation but I like it.  It is for a boy after all.  :)

The reason the CTR shield looks crooked is because it is on an Action Wobble.  Needed to make it interactive.  :)  In case you are not aware of what CTR stands for, it means 'Choose the Right'.  It is a shield/design that reminds us to choose the right after we have been baptized.

This is the back of the card.  I made it like a postcard in that it didn't open up but just turned over.  It cut back on cardstock used and the weight of the card.

I have 2 more projects set for this week, one for the Simply-Crafts challenge and the other for the Cookie/Card challenge.  So a fun week!

SUPPLIES:
CTR Shield - Silhouette cut file
Action Wobble

Music to My Ears

Hi Crafters! One of my neighbors sons was having his first piano recital and he invited my nephew to be there.  My nephew asked me to make him a congrats card for his friend.  So I wanted to make something simple and fun.  I searched on my Gypsy for musical notes and I found these on the Hannah Montana Cricut cartridge.  I cut them out at 3.6".  I then cut out 1/2" strips to make them my music sheet lines.  To make it more fun and kid like I embossed my white cardstock w/ the Cuttlebug Spots & Dots embossing folder.  I LOVE this embossing folder for kids, especially for boys.  Here's the project:

You can better see the embossing on the side view:

Cookie & Card Challenge - Thanksgiving Place Cards

Hi Crafters & Bakers! Time for the Cookie & Card challenge with Georganne and I.   I decided to get ahead of the game, for me, and make our Thanksgiving place cards.  Georganne made these so cute cookie place cards and I decided to go off her design for them.  This is her project:

To see how she made her cookies go HERE.  Here is my project that I made off those cookies:

The place card size is 3.5" x 2.5".  The white cardstock is 3.25" x 2.25".  The pumpkins I cut with my Silhouette and they are about 2.25" tall.  To make it more designed for the person on the card I embossed the pumpkin with a folder that reminded me of them.  The fancy swirls for my mom, funky polka dots for my nephew, and the grid for my brother.

Here is a pic of the side of the place card:
Here is a pic of the back of the place card:
I glued down a strip of green paper that is 3.25" x 2.25" and folded it in half to create the ledge for it to lean on.

To see what Georganne made of one of my paper creations go to her blog: LilaLoa

Bazzill Basics Paper - Saltillo cardstock

Episode 125: Basketball Spinner Card

Hi Crafters! It was my nephews birthday and he is an avid basketball player so the thought I had was to make a spinner card where the basketball was going into the basket.  I usually use a Stampin' Up label punch to make spinner cards but I wanted it to curve so I had to think how to do that.  I thought, what about a smile?  :)  So I used the smile off of the Snow Friends Cricut Cartridge to make my curved shot.

He Shoots!
 He Scores!

Hi Crafters! It's the first Wednesday of the month which means a new challenge is up on the Simply Crafts Challenge blog w/ Glora and I! :)  Woo Hoo!  Both of us got the new Create a Critter 2 cartridge so we just had to use one of their cute Halloween cuts.  I chose the vampire bat cut because it looked adorable.  So if you have this cartridge use this cut.  We are also opening it up to any Halloween project because it's our 1 year anniversary and wanted a lot of participation.  :)  Only thing you need to make sure on is that it is a NEW project, not a past one.  Here is my project:

Synthesizing!

Hi Crafters! I was asked by my aunt to make a poster for a lesson she was doing in school. Of course I said yes! It got me crafting and I'd do anything for her. :) She was doing a lesson on 'Synthesizing'.  I was like, huh?  lol  She gave me the idea of putting a pie on there because it takes many ingredients to come together to make it.  So that gave me the idea of making a kitchen counter look and put ingredients on it and with the finished cooked pie.

Something she also wanted me to do is to cut in into puzzle pieces.  So on the back of the poster I drew puzzle pieces and then just hand cut them out.  I forgot to take a pic of that so just use your imagination.  :)

I have two more projects for you this week.  I'm going to try and do videos for both of them.  This is for you Lane!  :)  (She kicked my rear end last week and told me to craft and video more)  lol

Sizes:
Poster Board - 14" x 22"
From My Kitchen: Hand Mixer 7"; Large Bowl 7"; Eggs 3.7"
Paper Doll Dress Up:  Pie 20";

All my paper came from the k&i Memories Classic Prints paper pad.  LOVE the papers in this paper pad.  I got to figure out where I got it so I can get another one when I start running out of my fave sheets.

See you later in the week!
