Episode 68: MPS DT Blog Hop - All About Summer!

Welcome to the My Pink Stampers Pinkalicious Blog Hop!  If you came from Alex's Blog you're in the right place.  If this was your first stop and you would like to start at the beginning head on over to the My Pink Stampers blog.  The theme of this blog hop is All About Summer!  And I'm focusing on what Summer means to me.  RELAXATION!!!  This is my idea of relaxation - the sun, no worries and reading a book.  That's why I also chose this My Pink Stampers stamp 'Don't Sweat the Small Stuff'.  Perfect for trying to relax.  :)  That stamp is from the Fabulous Phrases stamp set.  In the video I show how I did the paper piecing on my girl.  She originally was the Hula girl on the Life's a Beach cartridge.  Enjoy!

**I ended up loving this card so much I cut off the other half of the card to make it just a flat image and I'm going to frame it and put it in my craft room.**

To make a tall card cut your cardstock at 8" x 9" and score at 4".  So your card will be 4" x 9".  This size card will fit in a business size envelope.

I am giving away some blog candy for this blog hop.  I am giving away the My Pink Stampers Fabulous Phrases stamp set.  To be eligible to win please leave one comment on this post with a way to get a hold of you.

**For extra fun, tell me what your favorite book to read is.  And if you're not a reader, what are you looking forward to this summer?**

You don't have to be a follower to win the blog candy.  You have until Monday, June 13th, at 10pm MT to leave a comment.  I'll announce the winner on Tuesday, June 14th.

Your next stop on the hop is Edna with Create with Expression.  I love Edna.  She is so fabulous and always has something amazing to share.

This is so creative and cute! I love what you did with the girl! She looks great! I have a 1, 3 and 5 year old so the last book I read was their Awana lessons and Bible stories! Not much time for Mommy reading! The last time I read a book for me was several years ago when I read the Twilight Series (I had to see what all the fuss was about)! I would rather spend my free time crafting! Love the glitter accents on this cutie!

If you're looking for a good, easy read that will keep you entertained I recommend the Janet Evanovich Stephanie Plum series. Very funny. OOH!! She is so cute! I love it! I also love reading!!! Right now I am reading an old school (literally) book of poetry. It has selections from Byron, Wordsworth, Shelley, Keats (my fave poet!), and Browning. The book is from the Gateway Series of English Texts, edited by Henry Van Dyke in 1909, and was a required text for Harvard university students in the early 1900s. The price was 40 cents! I found this gem at my local library book sale for a donation. I LOVE reading vintage literature. In fact, I just picked up Charles Dicken's A Tale of Two Cities for free at the library yesterday! It was left over from their recent book sale, which I missed, and so was being given away. I am so blessed! Enjoy your summer reading!! :)

Very cute! It actually makes me want to go to the beach! In reality, I have issues with the beach because of the time I was pulled under the waves as I was trying to hold up two of the younger girls at my church. Sand was everywhere, and it hasn't been for me ever since! I do, however, love the idea of reading on the beach as long as I'm not near the water!

My favorite series to read right now is The Kingdom Keepers, which is a good vs. evil type story taking place in Disney World! I'm really just a kid at heart!

You do such a fabulous job! I just found this fun blog hop and hope to learn a ton of techniques and ideas...

I love to sit down and relax to any book written by Beverly Lewis... she has the last of the Rose trilogy, The Mercy, out and I would love to finish the series... Now doing it, that's the challenge.

Have a great day, and I am looking forward to more fun ideas!

God Bless!

Brilliant idea Pam! I took notes and will be giving a try myself at a girl "lounging." :) Too cute! :) My favorite book to read would be..."Night" by Elie Wiesel; a classic and I'm currently enjoying reading "A Place of Yes" by Bethenny Frankel. :)

Adorable card! I don't blame you for wanting to frame this one! I really like the MPS set that you are giving away. I love camping in the summer and bringing my crafty mags with to get inspiration while I'm away from inspiring blogs like yours! :)

My favorite book to read is the BIBLE. Every time I read it I get something different out of the same verses I've read before. Sometimes I read something I would swear I'd never read before. Thank you for sharing your creativity. sonyagilley@yahoo.com
