Happy Bird-day!

This card is a locking folding card.  I saw the design on Kristina Werner's blog.  You can see it HERE and she has a video on how she made her card as well.  I cut the base at 4.25" x 11", then scored it at 2.5" and 7.5" for my folds.  My image is the locking mechanism to keep the card closed.

On the image I used the new Cricut Craft Room.  There are quite a few bugs w/ it right now but it is to be expected because it is in beta testing right now.  I'm so excited for this program, especially to use it w/ my Imagine machine.  What I did for this image was add all of the layers of the baseball cut on the 3 Birds on Parade Cricut cartridge.  I then filled each image w/ colors and patterns from my Imagine Blast Off cartridge.  I then layered each cut on top of each other to create one image then printed it and cut it out.  I meant to print out the hat, mitt and ball to make it more layered but forgot.  But it layered perfectly and it still looks great.  I'm going to love this new program.  :)

Episode 54: MPS DT Blog Hop - Super Birthday!

Welcome to the My Pink Stamper Pinkalicious Blog Hop!  If you came from Andrea's Blog you're in the right place.  If this was your first stop and you would like to start at the beginning head on over to the My Pink Stampers blog.  The theme of this blog hop is Birthdays.  I decided to make a boys birthday card.  I saw this cute Super Hero bird on the 3 Birds on Parade Cricut cartridge and I knew I had to use it.  It is just too cute! (On a side note, I did a terrible job of lining up my image on the shadow cut.)

Hope you liked my birthday card.  :)  I am giving away these Sassafras felties.  I chose boy looking ones since I made a boy project.  I'm also giving away 10 Action Wobbles as well.  Please leave one comment on this post with a way to get a hold of you.  You don't have to be a follower to win but I won't kick you out if you become one.  ;)  You have until Monday, April 11th 10pm MST to leave a comment.  I'll announce the winner on Tuesday, the 12th.

FIF: Bird in Disguise

Happy April Fool's Day.  Have to say this isn't my fave holiday, I tend to just stay in.  :)

For the Flaunt it Fridays Challenge this week you need to make a project using the Bird in Disguise image from the 3 Birds on Parade Cricut cartridge.  If you don't have that cartridge they are accepting anything w/ a bird on it.  I really like the 3 Birds on Parade cartridge.  Not so much for the bird images but for all of the little extras.  Not that the birds aren't cute too.  :)  Like this bird in disguise image:

Then for the inside you can say 'It's Your Birthday!' or 'You're Great!' or anything you want.   I have the little guy on an Action Wobble, which of course makes him more fun.  :)

Be sure to head on over to the Flaunt it Friday's blog to participate.  If you win you are put in a drawing for the monthly grand prize.  Totally worth participating!
