Paper Playtime Challenge #14 - Old MacDonald Had a Farm E.I.E.I.O.

This week at the Paper Playtime challenge website the challenge is to make a project, any project that has to do with a farm. Our sponsor this week is The Stamping Boutique. Make sure you head on over there to submit your project for a chance to win a prize from The Stamping Boutique! Plus it's always fun to participate in challenges. :)

For my submission I chose this adorable farmhouse window from The Stamping Boutique. I colored it in w/ my SU! markers. I used a marker and a ruler for the design on the curtains. I printed out the image again, colored it, and cut out the dishes, curtains and pie/rolling pin images and pop dotted them off the image. I also used Tim Holtz Vintage Photo distressing ink on the image to make it look more antique-y. :) Then added green stitching string for added embellishment. The paper is from SU! and PTI.

Come back on Wednesday. I have a wonderful card to share with you and some YUMMY blog candy!

Happy Birthday Taylor!

This is the birthday card I made for my niece. She has a little chihuahua dog that she just adores so I tried to make a dog that looks the closest to hers.

The puppy and puppy clothes were from the Create a Critter cartridge. The birthday hat is from the Disney Pooh and Friends cartridge. The base paper, designer paper and ribbon are from PTI. The paper for the puppy is from SU! I used the EK Success puppy paw border punch.

I used the My Pink Stamper Family and Friends stamp set for the sentiment and the Peachy Keen Animal Faces Medium stamp set for the doggy face. Then I added a few doodle dots.

Peachy Keen Challenge #35 - A Color and Sketch Challenge

I made the following card for the Peachy Keen Challenge. This challenge is a color and a sketch challenge. We are to use Apricot, Teal and Orchid and a specific sketch, you can see it HERE.

I used the Peachy Keen Princess Face Assortment (PK-640) stamp set. The stamp I used was a full face so I covered one of the eyes, the nose and both eyebrows w/ tape and then stamped the 1/2 smile and one of the eyes on my poodle. I used the Create a Critter cartridge for the poodle. All paper is from SU! I also used Glossy Accents on the nose to make it shiny. I also used the Cuttlebug Polka Dot embossing folder.

This was for a friends parents 50th Anniversary. I saw pics of them 50 years ago and they do look like the people that are in the heart. :) I used the Sweethearts Cricut cartridge. The sentiment is from Scrappy Mom's Sweet Something stamp set. I used the D'vine Swirls Cuttlebug embossing folder, and used it backwards. The silver paper is from the Metallic DCWV paper pack, the rest of the paper and the ribbon is PTI.

Don't Feed the Humans!

Here is another card I made for the Paper Playtime Zoo challenge. Make sure you participate in the challenge, there is a Giveaway involved.

On the inside of the card it says: "Do you ever feel like YOU'RE in the Zoo?" I'm not going to lie, I thought this card was really funny.

The monkey & vine came from the Create a Critter cartridge. The human and his clothes came from the Everyday Paper dolls. The cage was cut from the My Community cartridge. The grass and the cage floor were hand cut. I rubbed a little Tim Holtz Broken China distress ink on the sky for a little color. The base paper is from PTI, the cage paper is from the DCWV Metallic paper pack and the rest was made from scraps. I used Animal Faces size Medium and Everyday Character Face assortment for the face stamps from Peachy Keen stamp. I printed the message w/ my computer/printer.

Paper Playtime Challenge #12 - Zoo Theme

This week over at Paper Playtime the challenge is a ZOO theme, interpret it anyway you want. This week I'm also lucky to be the Paper Playtime Queen of the week! So Fun!!! :) Along w/ that we have Digital Delights by Louby Loo as our sponsor this week. If you participate in the challenge you will be entered in to a giveaway by Digital Delights. They have some really adorable images. Just like the one I used in the challenge below. The image is called Timmy the Tiger. I wanted to make it two different ways to show the versatility it could have:

I made one that could be used for a boy's birthday or for any occasion. I made it for my younger brother that's on his mission. Thought it was cute and that he would appreciate it. :) I colored in the image w/ SU! markers. The ribbon is random ribbon I had on hand, the paper is PTI. I used the Polka Dots cuttlebug embossing folder but used it backwards so the dots are indented instead of popping out. The message I put on there w/ my computer.

The next one I used the same image and made a baby boy card. The paper and markers used are from SU! The ribbon is from Pebbles, it's their blue stitched ribbon. I used the EK Success Puppy paw border punch. And then used the Polka Dots Cuttlebug embossing folder but used it the "correct" way.

~Thanks for looking and be sure to participate in the challenge. Check back in a couple of days, I did another take on the Zoo theme that I think is pretty darn funny. ^_^

Fishing You a Great Day!

I made this card for my uncle's birthday but it could be used for any occasion for a man, or a woman who likes to fish.

The fish cut is from Create a Critter. I used the Peachy Keen Animal Faces Medium stamp set for the fish's eye, it's a bird's eye in the stamp set. I also used the Scrappy Mom's Amusing Animals stamp set for the sentiment. I embossed the background with the Checkerboard Cuttlebug Embossing Folder. I used dark brown twine for the fishing line. Doesn't the fish look like he's happy to be caught? Kinda morbid. LOL. :) I used PTI Kraft paper and Paper Studio Gone Fishing designer paper on the fish. I have no idea on where I got the ribbon.

Happy Birthday Bate!

This card is for my younger sister Becca, who I call Bate. My original idea for her card was for a girl to have bigger bosoms and screaming at a Nascar race but I couldn't find a Peachy Keen face screaming and had a hard time w/ the bosoms. LOL!!! Anywho, so this is what I came up w/.

The girl cut is the Mermaid girl from Life's a Beach Cricut cartridge. Instead of the bikini top I made a tank top. How I did that was I cut out the bikini top that goes w/ the mermaid then glued extra paper to the bottom and then cut around the girl to get the style. I then traced that piece on the orange paper and cut it out by hand. Hopefully that isn't too confusing. The car is from the Graphically Speaking Cricut cartridge. I cut out the street image by hand.

The face stamp is from the Peachy Keen Princess Face Assortment stamp set. The sentiment is from the My Pink Stamper Tweetie Hoo Puns stamp set. The paper is from PTI. I used the Quickutz Stripes Label embossing folder on the grill cut. I used Glossy Accents on the window and headlights.

Paper Playtime Challenge #11 - School Days

This week at Paper Playtime Challenge their weekly challenge is titled School Days. You can interpret the challenge anyway you want. This week we have a sponsor, The Stamping Boutique! Be sure to enter in the challenge to win the prize given by The Stamping Boutique!!! To see the other entries and to enter yourself go HERE.

I made the card for my Aunt who is a teacher. It is to wish her good luck in the upcoming school year. The images I used are from the Stamping Boutique. I love 'em! The background paper and pencil you can get HERE then do a search for school and a search for pencil. I printed the background off and cut it out in an angle. I then used Tim Holtz Vintage Photo Distress ink on the white paper to give it a more worn look. The pencil I colored in w/ SU! markers and pop dotted it off the paper. I used PTI paper.

My niece helped me w/ the idea of this card. She suggested I put the ribbon, also from PTI, at an angle like the paper. Never have done that before, turned out pretty good. :) I was then trying to decide how to write out Good Luck. I hate my handwriting and so my niece asked if I had any alphabet stamps. I almost reverted to my tween years and hit my head and said 'Duh!'. :) The alphabet stamps I used are from Sassafras Lass Mini Hombre stamp set.

Empty Mailbox

Here is a card I made for my brother who is on his mission. He's been promising to send me a letter since he's been out. He's been out a year and nothing. I understand why he isn't writing, he doesn't have the time. Then he was transferred to another area the week of my b-day so he missed that. So I made him this card as a reminder and as a joke. Thought it was funny. :) I did get a letter from him a week after my b-day. Better late than never! :)

I used the Doodlecharms cartridge for the mailbox. I added the post to the mailbox myself. The spiderweb is from the Mini Monsters cartridge. I added silver stickles to the web. I added a little spider w/ a black marker. It just needed it. :) I then used the Versamarker on the crease of the mailbox door to add extra embellishment. The designer paper is from the Making Memories Just Chillin' designer paper pack. I embossed the background w/ the Distressed Stripes Cuttlebug folder. Also used was twine and PTI paper.

Another Baptism Card

Here is another baptism card I made for this girl I use to teach in Primary. The hair was cut from Paper Doll Dress Up. The actual cut is longer hair for this style but I needed it shorter so I gave her a little trim w/ some scissors. :) The doll and clothes is from Everyday Paper Dolls. The paper and ribbon is from PTI. I used the Peachy Keen Everyday Character Face assortment stamp set for her face. I used the Daisy Cuttlebug folder on her dress. I don't believe that this is sold by itself. I got mine in the Gratitude set. I also used the Versamark pen around the hair for added dimension.
